six feet under the stars|’88

This piece has a really special place in my heart and I’m glad it did not turn out not to be a disappointment. I knew that when I decided to draw a whale, I would draw heavy inspiration from the mv “We are Bulletproof: The Eternal”. “Whalien 52” was another song I thought about, the story of the loneliest whale has always resonated with me and I wanted to convey that sense of melancholy with this piece.

Another piece that spent a loooooong time being a WIP. Initially wanted the jinbei(s) to be covered in flowers cos spring, but somehow it just didn’t look right. Since I tend to draw whales and whale sharks in space, I decided why not add the stars on them instead since whale shark markings reminds me of the galaxy. Quite happy with this but I realized that I always need to fill in the backgrounds for it to feel completed.

My inability to complete my other pieces is driving me nuts so I did a doodle of some cat jellyfish to try something new. Now time to get back to my poor jinbei(s).
