( álvaro rico | cis male | he/him ) — was that  MATÍAS “REMUS” LUPIN- MUÑOZ passing through diagon alley? yes, i think so… people around them say they remind them of  a simmering fire that still burns , small white lies that continue to build up , wishing upon a falling star even though you know there’s no point , a stream of light that manages to seep through a foggy forest, scratches along the wooden frame of your bed which i suppose seems to fit that GRYFFINDOR alumni. they’re actually pretty EMPATHETIC, WITTY, and RESERVED for a TWENTY year old, but i wonder if it serves them well when working as a MAGICAL PET CARETAKER at THE MAGICAL MENAGERIE ? have you heard that rumor has it that that HALF-BLOOD an ASSOCIATE for THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX ? i wouldn’t have guessed… but this is a conversation we should be having somewhere else. peter had brought the boys all the stuff that no one wanted in their pastry section of the restaurant, sure, it probably tasted a little stale but it was something for the celebration of sirius’ return and good thinking food for the plan when it came to the next full moon for remus. the home that had felt so cold and lonely since the absence of one of their arm was starting to feel a little bit warmer by the second. he sat on one of the beanbags in the tiny living room with a beer in hand and his cat close beside him. “happy to have you here padfoot, i guess,” of course he means it with every fibre in his being, but peter had never been one for kind affection. “but we have other fish to fry now,”

“option c” Violet said, taking a large sip from her cup of earl grey, grabbing the paper in question, folding it along its worn edges, and placing it between the small collection of files she was working on. “do you often ask strangers if you can throw away their stuff uninvited, or am I just that special?” she hissed, looking up at the younger boy. 

         there’s  a  slight   break  in  remus’  otherwise  neutral  face  ,  the  corners  of  his  lips  contoured  into  a  half  amused  smile  when  violet  forces  the  paper  from  his  grasp .  ❝ you’re  definitely  special ,  miss  greengrass  ,  but  that’s  beside  the  point . ❞   remus  says  with  a  rather  marveled  look  ,  now  using  the  emptiness  in  his  hands  to  tap  against  the  wooden  table  as  he  watches  her  put  her  things  back  together .  ❝ i  must  have  mistaken  it  as  trash  -   ❞  

             edgar gave a single grunt  , glancing down at the inky headline and wrinkled newspaper emblazoned with the daily prophet’s logo  .  ❝  s’full of shit  .  ❞  he barely shifted, shaking his head and rolling his eyes at the other.  ❝  do i look like i’m interested in gossip columns  , lupin  ?  s’the fuckin’ things they aren’t sayin’ that you should be interested in  .   ❞

“Does anybody ever actually buy the flobberworms - as anything other than food for better pets, I mean?”

                 ❝  for  better  pets  ?  that’s  some  absolute  rubbish  ,  especially  coming  from  you .  just  because  they’re  considered  to  be  quite  unextraordinary  doesn’t  mean  that  they  haven’t  got  one  or  two  things  to  make  up  for  it  .  i  mean ,  just  look  at  you ,  prongs  .  it’s  quite  the  opposite  for  you  and  we’ve  kept  you  as  a  friend  after  all  of  these  years .    ❞ 

“There’s  my  lad.  reckon  you  could  help  me  with  this  one?  Don’t  go  batty  or  anything,  alright,  Lupin?  ”  She  place  the  cage  onto  the  counter  and  pulled  back  the  sheet  she  had  covered  it  with  to  reveal  what  looked  like  a  regular  barn  owl.  “She  was  sending  out  some  stuff  for  me,  and  yes  she  is  mine,  and  just  came  back  with   t h a t .”  The  cage  rotated  slightly  to  reveal  what  appeared  to  be  a  lizard  tale.  “Figure  some  shitey  transfiguration  work.  But  who’d  be  intercepting  a  letter  back  to…  ah  just  somewhere  up  in  the  highlands  -  nothing  important.  And  come  back  with  a  couple  more  scales  than  when  she  left.”  It  wasn’t  important  where  that  letter  had  hopefully  landed  on  the  desk  of  a  charms  teaching  assistant,  but  that  some  snotty  rat  had  found  this  a  fun  project.  “Fact  is,  can’t  figure  out  what  spell  it  was.  I  think  it’s  a  lizard  tail,  yeah.  Would  do  it  myself,  but  then  thought  it  might  be  a  moke  tail  which  I  wouldn't  transfigure  back  the  same  way.  So  tell  me  what  it  is  and  I’ll  fix  it  myself.  Please.” @lycxnthropes

          ❝  not  even  a  hello  -  ❞   remus  begrudgingly  pushes  himself  from  the  counter  he  had  been  resting  against  for  the  past  minute  with  a  shake  of  his  head  .  there  was  no  fighting  with  marlene  mckinnon  ,  she  was  simply  a  force  of  nature  he’d  rather  not  fight  right  now  .   but  his  eyes  are  already  fixed  on  the  colored  owl  resting  on  her  person ,  only  saving  a  quick  glance  towards  her  face  when  he  notices  the  oddity  .  ❝  if  i  bother  to  ask  what  you  were  sending  or  to  who  ,  it  wouldn’t  even  help  would  it  ?  ❞   there  is  still  a  bit  of  skepticism  in  his  voice  ,  but  that  certainly  didn’t  deter  remus  from  knowing  what  to  do .  it  was  always  around  the  holidays  when  the  clueless  parents  of  wizarding  parents  came  in  after  wizarding  minors  tried  to  secretly  do  magic  unsupervised .  ❝  have  you  tried  a  simple  untransfiguration  charm  ?   ❞  he  questions  then  ,  extending  a  hand  towards  the  calm  owl  in  an attempt  to  be  friendly  .  ❝  a  reparifarge  should  work  .  always  did  at  hogwarts .   ❞ 

tarquin had made the dumb decision of picking up two consecutive shifts at the three broomsticks ; he needed the money, but the lack of sleep was getting to him. and for some reason, the pub was as packed in the early morning as it was last night. “ mate, can you order something.. i don’t know, today? “ man, were people picky when it came to breakfast. 

        what  had  been  an  attempt  to  find  a  quick  meal  on  his  way  home  from  a  rather  long  shift  became  a  show  of  how  the  hell  could  remus  focus  on  anything .  he  swears  that  he’s  read  the  same  line  of  text  a  hundred  times  only  for  the  thought  to  scatter  the  same  second  -  ❝  piss  off  ,  i’ll  take  all  the  bloody  time  in  the  world  just  to  peeve  you  more  .   ❞ the  draw  of  the  corner  of  remus’  lips  that  threaten  to  become  a  smile  betray  his  sarcastic  tone  .  ❝ i’ll  just  take  a  pumpkin  juice  for  now  ,  then  .   ❞ 

        hearing the jingling of the bell above the door, ellary lifts her head from the pages of the tome she is pouring over. gaze falls on the familiar shape of the younger wizard and a smile automatically tugs at her lips. “remus-” she says warmly, lowering her voice. “i have your usual order in the back.”

   a   tight  smile  stretches  on  remus’  lips  at  the  warm  greeting  ,  giving  nothing  short  than  a  polite  nod  as  he  approaches  the  counter  like  he  did  every  so  often  .  options  were  limited  ,  after  all  -   ❝  perfect  , ❞  remus  says  ,  already  itching  to  leave  .  ❝  how  much  ?   i   don’t  get  paid  until  next  week  ,  i  promise  -  ❞   wolfsbane  was  rare  to  come  by  and  while  there  was  some  months  he’d  afford  going  without  it  ,  he  was  half  convinced  james  would  dish  the  galleons  himself  if  he  could  and  that  was  not  the  kind  of  help  remus  wanted  from  his  friends  .
