I feel like people don’t pay enough attention to the fact that they thought Hange and Levi were dead. A bunch of 19 year olds were left all alone to deal with all of this and make decisions like that.

But also this just once more points out on how fucked up the situation was if they believed even for a second that Levi, FUCKING CAPTAIN LEVI ACKERMAN was dead.

And the realization hit them SO hard. Just look at their faces in the first pic, and Armin crashing out just a few moments later.

Whether you like it or not, Hange and Levi were a sort of parent figures for all of them, and being left alone without those people would hit infinitely hard.

And in this panel. The fact that they even for a second believed Floch just tells us how bad everything was.

I feel like we don’t talk about this enough.

My theory is that Kinger is one of the creators of the circus, or maybe he just cracked the code. We know that he was canonically a software engineer, and he’s in his 40s which means he studied it A LOT, and for a while. If we look at it from a programming perspective restoring a life of a character is just changing the number from 2 to 3 in the code, the only thing you have to do is to have the code, and understand which number you should change. If he is the a co-creator/creator of the circus that would explain how he has the codes, but if he’s not that means he knows and understands more than any of them. Him cracking the code could help them potentially escape from the circus. The only question here is if he does have the codes why would he let his wife abstract? I have two answers.

1. He is a creator and he can control everything that is code, his wife, and her mind were not a code that why he could not save her from abstraction.

2. He is just a smart guy who cracked some of the codes but not all of them, affecting only small parts of the circus.

Either way Kinger is not just a regular character, he definitely has some information, that could help, or even save the rest of them. And if he does save them he might end up sacrificing himself (just like in IHNMAIMS) and be stuck with Caine for the rest of eternity.

Just like he is not pleasant to be around rn?
