â°âŠ LITTLE HELPER
It wasnât that Temiri wanted anyone to leave, the man seemed nice, but the fear of his Master was more palpable than spending time with a nice person who wasnât being rude and mean. But it didnât mean Temiri couldnât help. He isnât working at the moment after all and it shouldnât take so long before Bargwill notices.
Taking the man by the arm, Temiri pulls him along, âIâll take you there, Iâll show youâŚbut we have to be careful so that we are not seenâŚcomeâŚIâll show you the way.â
The boy had seemed so frightened moments before, but when he grabbed Cescellyâs arm, it dawned on the pilot just how brave he actually was. He wasnât letting his fear get in the way of doing a good thing.
âI like you. Youâve got guts.â A smile returns to Cescellyâs face as he catches up to his new guide. He has no problem with the boy tugging on him and leading the way; it merely brings his attention to the boyâs initiative. He could make a good leader someday. âWhatâs your name, kid?â

As cryptic as her answer was, he supposed it was suitable for such a NAIVE question. He had no idea what she was which probably meant that he wouldnât fully understand it even if she told him. His question was all but forgotten as she laughedâ the first purely joyous laughter he had heard since leaving Felucia, and won so easily.
âIt was intended as one.â His lingering smile widened and a small chuckle blended with hers. âYour dress reminded me of a princess Iâve met; a truly remarkable woman. Sheâs the only person of high status Iâm acquainted with, really, so I donât have a lot to go on.â There were the senators he had encountered on Hosnian Prime as well, but their cultures were vastly different, and heâd been too busy trying to GET their attention to give much of his own to their apparel. âBefore I joined the Resistance, I was just a nysillin farmer. There arenât many social classes in the Felucian jungleâŚâ
â Go & ride your light; let it burn so bright. Reaching up to the sky & it's open wide. â You're electrified. â

Cescelly bounded up to the woman like an excitable pet, with a perhaps too friendly smile taking up half his face. âHello! I donât think Iâve seen you around before. Thatâd make you a new recruit or an off-world operative. Or a supplier! I suppose you could be a supplier.â Regardless of what she was, he was always happy to make a new acquaintance. He made it a point to familiarize himself with everyone on base which meant that he often nearly flung himself at strangers so he could greet them before they left.
âMy nameâs Ces! Iâm a pilot.â He glanced down as he realized that he was still wearing his flightsuit. âWhich apparently goes without saying. Anyway, if youâre new I could give you a tour? Or not, if youâre busy. Or if youâre not new.â

â°âŠ JAINA
Sheâd been meditating ( a rare sight indeed ) when Cescelly emerged from the trees that surrounded the base. Dark eyes looked up at the male as he spoke. âPerhaps just eating the berries might not have been the best idea in the world.â The female stood up, dusting off her pants from where sheâd been sitting on the ground. âA garden is a great idea - just try not to keel over.â
âYeah, okay, Iâll try not to.â A horrible thought came to Cescellyâs mind, urging him to act on what little of a mean streak he had. He supressed a smile long enough to lurch backwards and gag, flailing his arms before falling to the ground with eyes closedâ a deliberately exaggerated performance of faked death. His stilled state didnât last long before he let out a giggle and looked up at her. âSorry, I couldnât resist.â
He recalled as he sat up that she had also been sitting when he first approached. Meditation was not a concept he was familiar with, so he was hard-pressed to think of what she might have been doing. âWas I interrupting something just now? You look like you were⌠exercising? Sun-napping?â
â Got lightning in a bottle; hands on the throttle. Even in the dust we SHINE â with fire & gold in our eyes. â

â°âŠ SLAVE BOY?
The stranger in front of him didnât seem all that worried about getting into trouble, he didnât seem to take it all that seriously, but Temiri had no time for that. If Bargwill found out the man had gotten in here, if Bargwill sees, there was going to be a lot of trouble.
âDoesnât matterâŚyou need to leaveâŚI donât need troubleâŚmy master will be angryâŚâ He spoke more urgently, willing the man to understand the seriousness of the situation.
All joviality left Cescellyâs face at the boyâs mention of a âmasterâ. Was this boy a slave? It wasnât usual for workers to refer to their employer so reverently otherwise. His chest ached at the thought.
âI wonât cause you any trouble, kid. I promise.â He knelt down to be at eye level with the boy. âIâll leave if you want me to, but I could use some help finding my way. Do you know where⌠I think I parked her in a field somewhere near the shoreâŚâ He trailed off and looked to the horizon outside the stables. He couldnât see anything beyond the racetrack. âWhereâs the nearest big field?â
â°âŠ ASTRA
Astra  knew  the  journey  had  been  long,  yet  URGENT  DISCUSSIONS  still  had  to  be  made.   The  First  Order  would  NOT  kindly  wait  for  The  Resistance  to  rest  &&   re - group.   still  âââ  â   those  that  could  be  spared  &&  STOLEN  AWAY  from  the  talking  would  be  her  priority  for  now  so  that  was  what  she  would  do.
IT  WAS  AN  AFTERNOON  that  came  to  an  ending  with  gentle   breezes  &&  a  kind  heat.  not  too  intense  as  the  sun  readied  to  let  the  thirty - three  moons  stand  in  her  place.   DUSK.   a  fond  smile  crept  over  the  girlâs  lips  at  such  a  COINCIDENCE  that  the  group  would  come  to  her  planet  at  this  exact  time  âââ   though  it  prompted  a  conversational  topic.  Â
â    the  force  binds  us  in  MYSTERIOUS  WAYS,   humble  pilot    â     she  begins,  hands  clasping  neatly  in  front  of  her,  inclining  her  head  ever  so  softly  as  heels  turned  away  from  the  group  âââ  hoping  he  might  follow.    â   the  dusk  is  upon  us  &&  is  the  meaning  of  my  name;  Astra.  so,  what,  might  your  name  be  ??   â
Any sense he had of being out of place faded as he listened to her. His mind stilled and focussed on her words with deep interest. She was aptly named; her entire demeanor was as calm and comforting as Makem Hekâs ocean at dusk. She spoke of their surroundings with such gentility that he felt like he might have been conversing with a piece of nature come to life.
A soft blush reached his face as she used his own words to refer to him. It wasnât as impersonal as âsirâ, and something in the way she said it pleased him. He stepped into stride with her, unsure of their destination but unconcerned. Although he had just met her, he already trusted her implicitly. He had no reason not to.
âMy name is Cescelly. Cescelly Rufa-Moro. My mother never said what it means, but I doubt itâs as pleasant as yours.â A soft wind stirred the air around him, drawing his attention to her dress. To him it looked as fine as any he had seen General Organa wear. âWhat are you, Astra? Are you a princess?â

â°âŠ GIDDY MECHANIC
â   family  ??   â   he  parroted  with  a  HUGE  GRIN  that  seemed  to  be  creeping  ever  wider  to  rival  that  of  a  nexu.  there  was  a  hint  of  disbelief  in  his   tone  but  appreciative  all  the  same  as  his  nerves  somewhat  settled.  tools  were  soon  gathered  back  up  &&  a  sheepish  attitude  overcame  him  more  than  what  mightâve  been  before.
TOOL  BOX  REMAINED  on  the  floor,  not  risking  more   c l u m s y   actions  whilst  hands  fidgeted  so  nervously.  one  hand  raised  to  rub  the  back  of  his  neck.   â   right   âââ   Ces⌠  â   he  tries  the  name  out,  some  SKEPTICISM  over  how  casual  it  sounded.   â   BUT  I  MEAN  âââ     â      Skitch  began,  practically  leaping  to  his  feet  with  enthusiasm.    â   you  were  the  guy  who  managed  to  navigate  through   that  asteroid  belt  WHILST  ALSO  dodging  First  Order  fire  &&  taking  out  half  the  tail  chasing   you,   RIGHT  ??  â
âOh, that was just good luck and an even better TEAM watching my back. Iâd be long dead and my X-Wing would be scrap metal without the other pilots and mechanics like yourself.â A deep blush colored his face. The praise from this boy seemed endless, and he couldnât help feeling the credit was undeserved.
It was undeniable in his mind that his life had been saved by mechanics as many times as by pilots, if only because THE GENERAL mightâve killed him herself if sheâd seen what heâd done to his starfighter for the zillionth time. How he was still considered an asset with all the credits for parts heâd cost the Resistance, he couldnât say. Maybe his uncanny resilience on missions was what balanced that out in the end.
Regardless of his modesty, Ces felt a great JOY in his heart at the mechanicâs enthusiasm. The exhaustion heâd felt from a long flight was swept away and replaced with a deep-rooted appreciation for the moment. âSay, whatâs your name, pal?â He was grinning almost as wide as his new friend now. âIâll probably need to call on you a LOT in the future.â
â°âŠ POE DAMERON
hands  had  BUSIED  THEMSELVES  under  a  panel  on  the  belly  of  his  fighter.  there  were  plenty  of  capable  hands  the  resistance  took  on  to  deal  with  maintenance   but  Poe  felt  both  more  comfortable  &&  happy  to  deal  with  the  minor  upgrades  himself.  the  majority  of  the  time,  his  mind  became  NUMB  to  the  environment  around  him.  most  noises  were  tuned  out.  well⌠ maybe  not  ALL  noises.
A  PARTICULAR  SOUND  of  an  electric  laced  bang  had  pulled  him  from  his  work  rather  abruptly.  so  much  so,   the  pilot  had  sat  up  rather  quickly  &&  caught  his  head  against  his  ship  before  rolling  out  from  underneath.  a  hand  (  smothered  in  oil  )  reached  to  massage  the  sore  spot  on  his  forehead  as  feet  carried  him  around  his  fighter  to  find  Cescelly  lying  on  the  floor.
â   âŚ.  hey  buddy.    â   came  an  AMUSED  GREETING,   smirk  tugging  at  the  corner  of  Poeâs  lips.  arms  folded   over  his  chest   as  he   nodded  at  his  fellow  pilotâs  words.    â   I   see⌠  kind  of  you  to  WARN  ME  about  that.   Iâll  be  sure  to  watch  out.   you  uh⌠ you  need  a  hand  up  there,  pal  ??   â
His left hand cautiously reached up to pat his hair. He was only now becoming conscious of a peculiar sensation that meant each curl had straightened and stood on end. Although he couldnât see what he looked like, he could see the HUMOR of the situation. âOh my.â His words shook with laughter. âI wonder how much grease itâs gonna take to fix that!â
Wide eyes looked back to Poe at the offer of a hand. âN-no, Iâm fine, thanks.â It was true that Cescelly felt fine considering what heâd just been through. He could have died, but instead his limbs ached and his digits felt like theyâd fallen asleep. He didnât think that would be a problem until he tried to push himself up and his arm was too tingly to support his weight. He COLLAPSED onto his back again with a groan.
âActually, yeah. A hand up might be nice after all. Would you believe I can still feel everything and move just fine, but I canât even seem to hold myself up? Itâs likeââ He stopped, and a deep chuckle broke forth as he realized what he was about to say. âHey Poe... itâs like all the strength was ZAPPED out of me!â

The only other time Cescelly had been in a place as GRAND as this, he had been trying to warn the New Republic senate about the First Orderâs occupation of Felucia and was promptly thrown out on his ear. As beautiful as Makem Hek was, he couldnât help feeling out of place amongst the grandeur.
He kept to the back of the crowd, but when the generals and commanders of the Resistance started chatting away with the planetâs nobles he was left like a loose string on a sleeve. At least until a woman approached who, to his mind, could have been ROYALTY herself.
âSir?â He was so surprised at the title that he unknowingly echoed it out loud. If such an elegant woman was addressing him so formally, what was he supposed to call her? Should he BOW to her? He made do by bowing his head as she had, and clasped his hands to keep from nervous gesturing. âNo maâam, Iâ I suppose itâs not. Iâm just a humble pilot.â
@lvckyflyboy  //  gets  hecked.
HE  WAS  CAUGHT  like  a  dear  in  the  headlights.  hands  that  had  once  held  a  box  of  tools  now  fumbled  all  over  the  floor  to  gather  them  back  up  again.  Skitch  had  been  assigned  maintenance  over  one  of  the  fighters  this  afternoon &&  had  ASSUMED  the  vehicle to  be  unoccupied  already  until  THE  Rufa - Moro  had  appeared  before  him  &&  the  young  mechanic  had  yelped  in  both  a  blend  of  surprise  &&  fanboy-ish  nature.    â   oh  !!  R -  Red  Seven  !!  I  mean ââââââ   â   &&  down  he  dropped  to  the  floor  as  his  arms  had  given  up  trying  to  hold  the  box.   â     oh,   FORCE  ââ â   Iâm  so  sorry,  Mister  Rufa - Moro  !! â
For a moment Cescelly was just as stunned as the younger man. He usually wasnât addressed by his call sign unless he was in-flight, and being called âMr. Rufa-Moroâ was just as disorienting. Did this boy know he was just a farmer turned pilot? It wasnât as if he was a commander or the son of rebel war heroes like Poe Dameron was.
âHere, let me help you!â Cescelly knelt down to assist in picking up the contents of the fallen toolbox. He smiled, relieved by the interruption. This was the sort of thing he was used to: working hard and helping others, not being idolized by people no different than himself. âPlease, call me Ces. Weâre all FAMILY here.â

âWho are you?â Temiri spoke in basic as he spotted the stranger in the stables. âYou shouldnât be here and if they find you, youâll be in the big trouble.â
âTrouble, huh?â The warning didnât surprise him, but who it was coming from did. He had wandered astray on his way back to his X-Wing when he saw a stable of fathiers and decided to get a closer look at them. He had no idea that such a young boy would be employed there.
He turned to face the kid with a friendly smile. âThatâs sort of in my job description. My nameâs Cescelly, or âCesâ if you like. Whatâs yours?â
â°âŠ ROSE TICO
Rose had just finished a particularly complicated and messy repair when a pilot shouts, clearly trying to get her attention. Normally she would be happy to see a friendly face, but she canât help but feel a bit tired and irritable. The last pilot she performed repairs for was reckless or a bad flyer⌠Perhaps a bit of both. She struggled to make sense of the damage and fixing it had been even more difficult.
âYeah, Iâm a mechanic,â she sighs, wiping stray oil off of her face. Her tired and generally sour mood improves at the mention of the droid. The small R6 unit, with its orange paint, could be mistaken for a BB unit at a distance. However, BB units tend to be slightly better at fixing ships, due to their small, nimble bodies. Although Rose must admit, the droid looks like itâs trying itâs best.
His whispered additions make her laugh. âYou canât judge him too harshly. He certainly looks like heâs trying harder than you.â Her tone is light and teasing. âI was going to take a break but your droid really does look like he needs help.â The poor droid does not fit nicely under the ship, frequently bumping into the bottom of it. âYour ship better not be like the last guyâs,â Rose mutters, wagging a wrench at him. âHe both did and didnât rip his ship in half. If that doesnât make sense you can imagine how fun of a time I had fixing his ship.â
She looks more tired than he realized at first and he almost feels bad for asking. Still, she seems willing to help, and he can pay her back later. He wholeheartedly believes that when someone does something nice good things will happen to them, which means sheâll have plenty of good luck in exchange for her deed. As long as her good luck isnât as ironic as his, she should be fine.
Her comment about his droid makes him laugh. âOf course! Thatâs because he actually knows what heâs doing.â Having grown up on a farm in the jungle, Ces had little experience with machines. Now every day seemed like a crash-course on how to fix parts of his ship most people didnât even know could get broken. âItâs more rattled than torn, I think.â he assures her. âThanks so much for this! I owe you big time.â
He directs her towards the X-Wing and walks directly up to his droid. âHey, BeeThree. I found a friend to help out!â He turns to Rose, about to introduce her, when he realizes he doesnât know her name yet. He decides to reverse the introduction for now and gestures to the droid. âThis is R6-B3, or just BeeThree. Heâs an ornery old guy. Watch out that you donât step too close to him; he spills oil sometimes. Accidentally, of course. My nameâs Cescelly, or just Ces. And, uh⌠I forgot to ask. Whatâs your name?â
