A 19th-century Japanese Netsuke, carved from Ebony with delicate Inlays - 蝙蝠襲う梟 (Owl Attacking a Bat). A Netsuke is a small, carved toggle from Japan, originally used to fasten small hanging containers to a man's sash as kimono's did not have pockets.
