I have been thinking a lot about Chuunibyo as a state that is; anti-normative, aspirational, and generative.

1) Chuuni is anti-normative. A comfortable and copacetic individual cannot be chuuni. Chuuni is founded in a dissatisfaction with the world, the type commonly found in adolescents. This lends the chuuni to both delusion and generation. The two are ideally not mutually exclusive.

2) Chuuni is aspirational. Chuuni is not a static state. It is something that must actively be pursed. The chuuni seeks something, be it a desire for identity, a more just world, or an escape from an unacceptable reality. A chuuni mindset is maintained for a reason.

3) Chuuni is generative. Chuuni in its best artistic expression is generative. After all, desire must inevitably articulate itself. This might manifest as "a desire for special powers" or "a cool bisexual vampire bf" but because Chuuni is ideally both anti-normative and aspirational, it will not stop with these ideas. It indulges the adolescent, but continues building based on that trajectory.

…oh wait no I went one further than considering it I did do it…

I ended up not going with the front fly closure, in part because the shortest opened ended metal zipper I could get was 40cm long and also TWELVE DOLLARS(!) but also because I got annoyed with trying to work out the equivalent of a waistband for the bust curve - this one has a button closure at the centre back but I think next time I would go to the effort of sewing a proper bra hook-and-eye closure because it is a bit hard to wrangle on and off.

I don't have any experience with the weirder corners of university campuses – my work in that particular job just never happened to take me there. I did, however, once have to do a cable trace in the basement of a former Christian elementary school. It had haphazardly been subdivided into numerous tiny rooms, some as little as ten feet across, with no central hallways or apparent floor plan. Every single room was, for reasons that were and remain unclear to me, full of broken kitchen appliances. One room in particular contained an enormous industrial freezer unit that was larger in its smallest dimension than any of the doors leading to it. Was it delivered in pieces and assembled on site? Did they build the room around it? That one still bothers me a little bit.
