Lenora nodded along, looking thoughtful as the other made her case. Then she giggled and said, “It’s fun to imagine what we would have done in his place, isn’t it? I really love stories like these!”
She paused to pull a pocket watch out of her dress pocket, glancing at it before looking at her companion.
“Ah, I hope our little conversation hasn’t delayed you from something important, Magnolia! I only just realized what time it is – and I need to get back to my stall to open it up again soon. Do you need to go, or would you be interested in browsing some of my wares?”
Magnolia returned the giggle with a tiny nod of her own, “You’re right about that! I’ve been meaning to pick up a few more for my own journey... Reading the same thing gets tiresome.” There were plenty of books she hadn’t read here! Back on the Moon, the selection was so limited. Most people were working important jobs or fighting Ba’als.
“Ah, non, it hasn’t! I was hoping for a little break anyway.” She flapped her hand with a tiny smile, “I’d hate to keep you from your customers, but I wouldn’t mind takin’ a peak myself, Lenora!” She gave her another little wink. Good thing the moon-dweller had managed to keep some money on her person this trip. Shopping always was a treat!
