it'll always peeve me when bad historical and political decisions are attributed to some abstract collective flaw in humanity. "oh my god why did they/we do that." who tf are you talking about? that was the capitalists' profit motive, dawg. regular people didn't have a say in all that. in most cases those regular people said "aw man what the fuck why would you do that to us" before bearing the brunt of the consequences for choices they were kept from participating in.
