although INFJs might identify as a nocturnal animal since a child ( and most likely love stargazing and night-time wanderings), the unknown (e.g. darkness) scares them deep down
INFJs rich and constant imagination, and ability to fill in the “unknown” with possibilities, makes them more likely than other types to imagine sinister and unconventional entities
INFJs introverted intuition (Ni), allows them to have a tendency to look for meaning in places that other people ignore (e.g. notice what people don’t say when they’re speaking and can easily fill in the blanks)
INFJs look more at what’s hidden than what is obvious; hence, finding the dark/unknown to be such a discomforting thing
wrong-doings to children:
INFJs tend to have a specifically greater sympathy and empathy for children, especially when it comes to the death of children (as opposed to a general loss of loved ones)
could be due to their tendency to quickly develop very strong emotional bonds with children, especially their own (as somewhat protective parents like a “mama bear”)
the nature of INFJs response to children and anything related to pediatric injustices, health concerns, well-being, and maturational development heightens the significance and presence of this fear
personal/subjective thoughts:
admittedly, INFJs are their worst enemy, and deep down they’re fully aware that at the end of the day, no other human could scare them more than they scare themselves
INFJs rich and vivid imagination is one that amuses and entertains them, but makes them susceptible to spend a lot of time “in their heads” and a lot of time analyzing and predicting–which can get the best of them
INFJs strong Introverted Intuition (Ni), allows them to form insights and future-oriented visions quite frequently thus, putting a lot of faith in their beliefs, ideas or “gut feelings” (almost more so than the faith they put into the sensory world). However, this leads to a disconnect between expectations and reality, which easily and readily causes dissatisfaction, disappointment, and negative thoughts about themselves
humanity’s “evil” potential:
although acutely aware of the trials and tribulations, and human tendencies that make the world go round, INFJs are undoubtedly true idealist (despite their full grasp of cynical ideals)
INFJs very much like to believe that every human being has the potential to make the world a better place and the world has the potential to do better (based on their belief that every human is born with their own unique human potential)
however, humans’ actions and choices that involve wrong-doing, cruelty, corruption, rudeness, insensitivity etc. isn’t something they could ever justify, let alone wrap their heads around to accept
INFJs believe so strongly that the world should be a place of kindness, compassion, and honesty, that when they see corruption, murder, abuses of power, and evil it ruins them internally more than anything. Other types may over time become used to news of corruption; however, INFJs feel the pain freshly with each occurrence
constantly, their idealistic views are tested, and the fear of never reaching humanity’s full potential makes them wonder if their humanitarian outlook were really meant for this world. But deep down, a sentimental stubbornness keeps their ideals refreshing in the background (like a stubborn optimist)
