light 'em up

                  ❛   well, my favorite wendy ever, i am SO happy you asked ! i’ve got a LIST of things we’re going to do tonight. it’s going to be the bestest sleepover ever !    ❜          there was nothing short of JOY resonating in her tone, and even THIS was nothing — mabel was trying to tone it down, at least at first, because she was trying to both SAVE HER ENERGY, and also let wendy know that mabel was as cool as a pool noodle, too. 

         it wasn’t really WORKING, of course, given the way she was practically sliding around the room on a pillow with excitement, but — whatever. she’s waited TOO LONG for some quality wendy time. this was going to be awesome.           ❛     the list includes, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, spectacular movies, fantabulous gossiping girl talk, pillow fights ! eating so much candy we get sick, MAYBE knitting, if you’re up for the challenge ! more movies, more candy, maybe we can stick sleep somewhere in there, but — EH. sleep is for the weak ! we’re gods of THE WORLD, wendy ! what do you want to do ? the list is open to suggestion.   ❜        she FINALLY takes a breath, accepts the soda with a toothy grin.        ❛     we can ALSO play games, spy on dipper and stan, and prank call soos. out of love, of course.    ❜

        THERE’S AN extended crack and pop as she opens the can in her hand. Tipping her chin back, she guzzles down a good portion of her soda as she listens to Mabel’s (--endless?) list of activities for the night. This kid was ready to take over the world and her positivity was infectious. Wendy honestly wasn’t even sure if she’d be able to keep up. Setting the can down on an clean patch of floor next to her, she stretches her arms up over her head and lays back into the nest of blankets and pillows. Man, she could fall asleep right there. The late afternoon sunlight was filtering through the window at just the right angle-- the perfect setup for a nap. Even so, she was committed to having a fun night with Mabel. Opening one of her eyes, she raised her eyebrows. 

“Got anything else?” Wendy asked the question jokingly-- but caught herself when she looked the younger girl in the eye. No, she would never run out of ideas. Best to stop a train of newfound plans before it left the station. She held up a hand before Mabel had the opportunity to open her mouth. “I’m kidding.” 

She took a moment to consider the suggestions she’d been given, humming softly to replace the silence. Knitting was an immediate no. Mabel had the patience, talent and a loving heart that could rival that of a thousand grandmothers; she rocked at knitting. Wendy, on the other hand, felt like she just wasn’t cut out for it. Everything else sounded pretty cool, though. And it was starting to feel like too much work to narrow down on just one thing. (though she naturally tipped in preference towards pranks and troublemaking)
