For me, one thing that makes it easier to pick up a pencil is remembering that art does not need to be hard. Set practical expectations for yourself, and try not to beat yourself up over it! Start with stick people comics! There are many very high-quality stick people comics out there, and there is no shame in starting there (or staying there either!)

Drive, passion, and inspiration all come from different places for everyone! If you’re doing art for fun you don’t need to turn it into a chore, and that’s something a lot of people ignore when they’re considering this. Draw if you feel like it! and if you’re really not into it and it’s making you feel sick with anxiety…take a break! There’s no way to inject inspiration into yourself! That being said, there are good habits you can make. Just start small! scribbly word lists, Tiny doodles, and Gesture drawings are very fun and can help you ease into the mood.
