What a softie

Why do other fandoms think they’re better than “mainstream” music? Like I seriously don’t understand. My old roommate is a huge twenty one pilots and p!atd fan and call me basic and average because I love 5sos. Is it because 5sos is a little more pop? Because she thinks every top fan is original and edgy™? Because 5sos have a predominantly female fan base? I just don’t know, but for the 9 months that I lived with her, she acted like I didn’t know shit about music because I didn’t like the same bands that she does and I’m tired of it. She’s called 5sos boring, my fiance, who also a huge top fan, said he almost fell asleep while listening to youngblood (he knew I was SO excited for this album and that I hadn’t even listened to it yet so that comment made me angry), and they both have claimed that 5sos stole ideas from top. I’m just tired man. I’m tired of not being taken seriously as a music fan and I’m tired of 5sos not being taken seriously as amazing musicians, of other fan bases thinking they’re superior. The band is amazing and talented and most of this fan base is pretty fuckin cool too. Okay that’s all just had to rant
