I can’t begin to explain how honored I feel to be afforded that privilege - to stand alongside the fiercely intelligent policy advisors at Oxfam who work tirelessly to advocate for those in need, and the organization’s Sister Ambassadors like @dorothymcauliffeva + @chefaleschrader, who use their influence on a daily basis to affect change. Never in my life would I have thought I would have the opportunity to address political icons like @speakerpelosi, or have heartfelt discussions with representatives like @replindasanchez, both of whom, astounded me with their compassion and grace... we may have even shared a tear (or two). The opportunity was truly an honor. But the biggest honor, was being able to speak on behalf of the people who are living this fight every single day - thank you for trusting me with your stories. Your belief means the world to me, and I want you to know that people are listening. People do care. Every single person I spoke to on Capital Hill empathizes with you, and contrary to the rhetoric of the current administration, is fighting for your right to be embraced in this country with an open heart.

We have a long way to go with the #NorthernBorderStabilizationAct, but we’re garnering support one member of Congress at a time, and that is something.
