this was no ref, just vibes. interesting to see how my (dubious) skills have decayed in the month or so since i've drawn this guy.

good bits: hair went alright
needs love: ough all symmetry. i gave up halfway thru hat thatching lol. but hey ! still better than luffy 1 so i'm winning π

good bits: i'm pretty happy with the eyes, eyebrows, and hair. top of the hat went alright too
needs improvement: mouth... these cartoony expressions are more complicated to draw than i expected ! also hat thatching on the lower part ? oof.

i looked back at luf 1 and Hoo Boy i am improving !!!
i like adding color - i think i'll try like actual shading next week ?
