Hand written elements before they were digitalised! I didn’t end up using the ‘can I get you a cuppa?’ One as I decided to only feature lyrics in the book instead

Hand sewing #vibes making this book has been quite therapeutic apart from the really stressful printing part

I added some silver chromatic calligraphy pen to bougie-ify the book up a bit!! It’s quite subtle and not too flashy which I like.

I had SUCH PROBLEMS exporting this thing to print man, it was so confusing, I literally sat for an hour in the print place tryna do it. It was traumatic. It was so awkward so I left and bought some nicer paper to put in my printer at home and do u know what, I’m happy with how it’s turned out! I’m currently slicing out all the pages with a ruler and knife and now I’m going to fold them all, then I’ll hand sew everything together. I think this will give it such a nice sort of personal touch, I think that home made sort of feel to it will push my theme more too.

I think, although I like these photos and they took forever to take they were a lot of effort, I’m gonna take them out of my zine... They just don’t really represent my theme ideas strongly, they’re a bit too moody and don’t give off Folklore vibes in the same way as the rest of my pictures do. 

I feel like the photos on this page are giving ~nothing~ Like my project is about celebrating the beauty in the little things, they go with the theme in terms of the feeling of satisfaction after a meal and the sparkles on a big body of water but I feel like the photos lack substance. I tried to spice it up by adding the water droplets but I’m not sure if that’s doing enough. 

Omgggg I’ve found yet another shoot I forgot I took! These are from my camping trip too which already features quite heavily in my zine so I’ll have a skim through them but I think I’m pretty happy with my outcome

I thought I was done and dusted with my book but I forgot I had these photos... I think maybe my cheesecakes are a no but I do like the one of my brother. Maybe I’m just biased because I think he’s cute but it is a nice photo from when we were camping

Playing around with song lyric placement, taking into consideration where the fold in my book is sitting. I decided to use this inky blue colour rather than just plain old black because it’s a bit softer, pulls out the film-like blue tones from my photos and it looks more like hand written inky pen :)

I looked at this ‘name generator’ website and it was NOT helpful, I am not calling my zine ‘Zaney Zine’ or ‘Photo Phun’ HAHAHA

Going through and neutralising some of the colours in my photos, some were just too cool toned or too warm toned so I’m just playing around and perfecting that. 

Right now I’m settled on ‘In this moment’ I think this sums up my idea of capturing the moment for what it is, it related to the idea of imperfection which I like and I think it sounds nice. Another competing name is ‘Monday’ I think this is nice because it’s like celebrating the beauty within a mundane Monday, I haven’t fully decided yet so I’ll start mocking it up to see what looks and feels better!

Decided to add the colour back into this image because the black and white didn’t go with any of my other images and look!! Fab!!

I’m thinking of implementing some hand drawn elements into my own book, I think this will really define that theme of ‘perfection in imperfection’ that I’m striving to portray.
