Person A: i have absolutely no idea what i’m doing.

Person A: *looks to Person B, the usually chaotic one, napping on A’s shoulder*

Just as you’re about to be taken away, the doors to the courtroom open wide and in storms a person frantically yelling that they are in possession of evidence that will prove your innocence. The person looks at you and discreetly winks. 

 This sudden twist is very strange for 2 specific reasons:

1) You have definitely committed all those crimes;

yuuki: this is a verbal conversation

•OH okay so. nikei is a siren, stereotypical as this may be, but in canon he’s a journalist, journalism is generally meant to be persuasive, u get the drill

•then we have sailor yuuki! who lives by a coastal town, it’s just a quick and common way of making money, like working retail/in a restaurant for teens (except young sailors here actually get fair treatment and are respected like humans also they get payed a sane, humane amount)

•everyone knows general siren safety, it’s like boat safety, u know what to do, u probably think it’s a bit ridiculous, but then u hear a story of someone not being safe, and suddenly u stop caring abt if it’s ridiculous

•of course, this doesn’t stop teens from being dumb,,

•so! mr maeda is peer pressured into not following,, whatever siren safety rule, right?

•and no one is really worried bc it’s been forever since they had an attack, some people are even worried abt the siren population

•which means that they all get a bit distracted going abt their duties and they’re far out to sea before they realize that yuuki isn’t on board anymore

•yep! yuuki swam out to the siren, promising him his greatest desire!

•so the two come into contact for the first time, and nikei, in order to make sure yuuki comes close enough, asks him what it is he wants

•this more or less snaps yuuki out of his trance as he realizes that. he’s genuinely pretty happy where he is

•he and nikei have this back and forth “riches?” “nah my whole town is well off financially” “want anyone dead?” “wtf no why would i want that” “travel the world?” “my town is nice also i worry abt my mom”

•"…love?“ and that? that catches yuukis eye, mostly because… this pretty boy with the good voice who’s serenading him said that yuuki would find what he desired here,,, 👀👀👀

•now. nikei hasn’t really successfully caught a human before, not with their safety precautions, so how cool would it be if he manages to infiltrate the human town, lure them out to sea via a boat or smthn, and feed all the sirens for forever!

•i mean in reality the sirens can eat other things, but still!!! wouldn’t that be cool!

•so nikei promises yuuki true love, and the next thing yuuki knows, he’s back on shore just outside of his town

•meanwhile, nikei explains his plan to emma, sea-witch extraordinare!

•emma doesn’t really think this is a good plan but. whatever she’ll just find a way to keep track of nikei so he won’t die

•this comes in the form of taking nikeis voice - should he need to communicate with her, his voice will immediately echo in his head, but now she’s the only one who can hear it.

•not that nikei cares!!! he has a village to go murder

•so when yuuki is almost to his village, a certain dark-haired siren, now equipped with human legs, just so happens to wash up right in front of him - crazy!

•in yuukis village, they have a bit of a,, odd relationship with sirens, so the general outlook is "don’t be dumb enough to get lured out there, if it happens we’ll be sad, but we won’t be upset with the sirens, it’s your fault for not being safe” since sirens are known for just being hungry + they’re generally more powerful than humans so uh. maybe don’t blame them

•of course, the teens are getting a lot of shit for making yuuki be unsafe, and yuki is just being mourned - until he shows up with a pretty stranger on his arm

•yuuki is just deciding to roll with this???

•looking back on what he know realizes was a siren encounter, he figures it was just a dream… i mean why would a siren just let him go free? he probably just tumbled off the boat, hit his head on smthn, and happened to wash up on shore

•i mean, if this strange boy also washed up, odds are it’s just some friendly mermaids wandering by and helping out, which isn’t too uncommon!

•anyways, yuuki should probably focus on, yknow, revealing that he’s alive, seeing his mom, and getting this stranger taken care of first

•aiko is considering never ever letting her son go out to see again. it doesn’t happen, but still.

•yuuki brings nikei home, and he claims to have amnesia, saying he doesn’t remember where he came from, or how he ended up in the ocean, just that his name is nikei

•yuuki, flashing back to his dream abt a siren promising him true love: hmmmmm… nothing suspicious here!!!

•yuuki takes nikei around to the village to try and see if anything they find will jog his memory - cue nikei being absolutely enthralled by all the things there is, since a majority,, aren’t really water proof, so he’s never seen them before

•and! watching nikei wander around, questioning each and every little thing and how it works, yuuki thinks that… maybe he might’ve really found his true love

•bleh i’m getting burnt out and wanna work on general hcs so - let ur imagination run free with what problems occur, the ending they get, and i’ll write something general hcs!

•one more note tho:

•when nikei does get his voice back, he’s really charismatic - in human form, he can’t necessarily lure people to their deaths, but people still find themselves believing him, and a crowd inevitably forms nearby if he ever sings.

•he’s constantly worried he’s manipulating yuuki into being with him, but yuuki just reminds him that he fell in love before nikei had his voice back

•now for some more general hcs! bc i didn’t really expect to run with that like i did - feat. non siren nikei

•!!! childhood friends au feat. little yuuki goes for a swim and finds another little

boy splashing around - he always seems to beat yuuki to the water, he’s there when yuuki shows up, and stays even when yuuki needs to go because the sun is setting

•little yuuki doesn’t think much of this, and when he does inevitably find out that nikei isn’t human, his mom brushes it all off as a tall tale

•when yuuki is too insistent, she goes to check it out, causing a panicked little nikei to go and hide

•aiko worries that this will negatively affect yuuki, so she does her best to distract him, and he eventually brushed it off as his imagination

•he does return back to the area a few times, but only when accompanied by friends

•until the one time when he realizes he left something by the water and returns by himself, just to almost automatically be pulled in by a delighted nikei

•stopping that there bc i’m realizing that try as i might, i cannot make general hcs. i keep coming up with more aus. lmk if u wanna hear anymore but i’m cutting myself off here
