"I can’t sleep and I have nothing else to do. No one to go out with either.”

“DAD!” Shouts the young prince, his voice full of glee! Noctis reaches up and allows himself to be picked up, wrapping his arms around his father and nuzzling his face against his shoulder with a big smile. “I missed you!”

“Right... Where would we even start anyways?” The prince asks, doing a mildly good job at hiding the dread in his voice. Remembering the time he had to run on the sand with Gladio at six in the morning. Astrals help his soul.

A few jobs... Huh, he wondered what exactly he had to do. It sounded much better than just having someone hand him money without any reason to do so. “Alright... I’m listening.”

“Never. I need to make money on my own, otherwise, I’m not really doing much for myself.”

“Maybe I should rename myself to Noctis, the broke ass Prince.”

“Well, that just means you have to start working out more. Like... Major workouts. The guy can lift a claymore that’s twice as heavier than you.” Noctis is not even going deny that he feels a little jealous too but he also won’t admit it, you won’t get him that far.

“I have enough gil to buy valentine’s chocolate... I guess I’ll buy some for myself next year.”

“I thought you were supposed to be my biggest supporter, not my critic.”

“Maybe...We need two jobs. If we have two jobs, it’ll turn into one full-time job and we get enough hours.” 

“I’ll never know what it’s like to be mugged because I think the thief would probably give me gil instead.”

“ Well, one of my coworkers at the restaurant quit the other day if you want to try and apply there? I can put in a good word for ya. ”

“ ... Sorta. Yeah. ”

“ I need a second job... ”
