Most of the rules up here inside the National Park are federal laws. Feeding the ravens is technically a felony! Flying a drone up here, and airplanes too oddly enough, is very forbidden. I am told there are very few pilots that have permission to fly over the park and Harrison Ford is one of them. I guess he has a ranch not too far from the park with his own grass airstrip. He has permission because he volunteers to fly Search&Rescue scouting missions whenever someone goes missing or there are reports of fires and that type of thing.

I witness “culturally diverse” asshats abusing the rules every day. People stop and park in front of the signs that say No Stopping or Parking. They walk right on the roads passing countless signs that say No Walking Along Roadway because it jams up traffic. They try to walk up to elk and bison constantly which causes a spectacle and eventually gets the rangers called in causing further excitement, gawking, and traffic jams. There is no cell service up here except right at the various camps, so it takes a long time for any type of response to these jerks’ behavior and they’re usually gone by the time someone has enough signal to call authorities and then the subsequent travel time. The littering and disregard for No Entry signs is infuriating. Most of the cool mud pots and thermal features have border fences and/or walkways with warning signs everywhere to stay on the paths and not get too close. The earth’s crust is very thin in some places around these features but sadly not enough of these asshats fall through. Some of these boiling pots and whatnot are sulfuric acid, boiling toxic mud, or full of bizarre and dangerous bacteria (that’s what creates the wild colors) and again, not enough of the miscreants and reprobates fall in eliminating them from the gene pool.
