Hey, y'all! We're so excited to bring Sonamy Week '26 to you guys. But there is a little housekeeping and some ground rules to get out of the way first, so please make sure to read through this if you are planning to participate.

Rules

Sonic and Amy say you should read these rules thoroughly. (Amazing render by @undeadgamer-artist!)

While most of this stuff should be pretty standard for a fanweek, we do have a few rules in place to ensure that everyone has the best experience possible. Please note that these are subject to change if we feel that anything needs to be added or revised. If you have questions or would like any clarification, please ask! The askbox is already open.

No NSFW whatsoever. We want everyone to have a fun, safe time celebrating our favorite pink and blue hedgehogs.

Extreme gore is not permitted. Mild blood (such as a nosebleed) or other minor injuries are allowed.

Regarding both of the previous points, if you're on the fence about whether it's okay, use your common sense.

While fankids and AUs are completely welcome, don't use someone else's OCs or AUs without permission.

Any use of generative AI is not allowed. We want to see your real human work that you've made because you love Sonamy!

What kinds of art are allowed?

For this event, you can make traditional art, digital art (including 3D renders*), fanfics of any length, animations, character analyses, posts themed around the prompt, GIF sets, playlists, original songs, crafts, lettering, or any combination of thereof! We've listed pretty much every media type we can think of so that you're free to participate your way. If you don't see your type of art here, please ask!

*Note regarding 3D renders: if you use someone else's model, please give credit to the creator!

Do I need to be an experienced artist to participate?

Nope! Doesn't matter if you went to art school or if you just picked up a pencil for the first time today, you are more than welcome to join in.

Can I post my work late?

Most definitely! This is just for fun. We don't mind if you post your contributions day of or months late. We're just happy you participated!

The way Jonathan is so annoyed with Clark makes it obvious that Clark lived to a time that Jonathan will be old enough to remember his 'motivational speeches and promise to a better tomorrow' and get annoyed by it. And if Lara is younger than Jonathan, Clark definitely lived to see some of Jon's life.

But not as Superman.

So Clark tried to make Jon into the next Superman. If he kept the mindset that ' Clark isn't what everyone needs, Superman is. " he could've accidentaly tried to mold Jonathan into the person he once was. But I think with that mindset something went terribly wrong. Maybe Clark died.Kara might have died too,considering Jonathan's response to the way Kara got terribly injured this chapter.

That's why Jon resents him and takes on the mantle of 'Superman', he has the idea that his way is better than Clark's ever was.

On the other hand Lara doesn't seem like she had much of a relationship with Clark. She is meant to be a mirror to Kara. Lois or 'General Lane' and Brainiac both have a toxic parental relationship with their respective 'daughters'.

I'm guessing General Lane is similar to the Lois we saw in the previous chapter 'the ex-games' .She isn't afraid to sacrifice things for the greater good. One of that things can very well be her relationship with her daughter. Just like Clark tried to mold Jon into a new superman, maybe Lois tried to turn Lara into Supergirl. In her worst Lois becomes a very controlling person, so this explains why Lara turned out this way.

Jonathan and Lara seem relatively close in age so Jonathan could have been as young as 1-2 years old when Clark left the picture. He was referred to as Jonathan LANE not Kent after all.

Jon lost his father when he was a baby, but he didn't resent him. In fact Jon was even eager to get to know him, he listened to his lectures and modified his behaviour accordingly. Something we didn't see from Jonathan second time around.

If Jonathan's dad Clark died before they could get to know each other, wouldn't Jonathan's and Jon's behaviour be the same towards Clark? Jon's future was bad too, in fact he didn't even have Lois around and lost his only parental figure Kara. But he doesn't resent Clark one bit, and takes on the name Superboy. Not an attitude of ' I'm the better Superman' can be found in his behaviour as opposed to Jonathan
