hello hello, welcome in! we are the devotees of the otherworldly, a collective (system) formed by dissociative identity disorder that uses this blog as a creative outlet! we mainly write, but we also draw digitally and traditionally, cosplay, and we even stream on twitch!
we love exploring unconventional relationship dynamics, and are very fond of extreme displays of trust and vulnerability. however, we also make content geared towards age regression; a coping skill and defense mechanism often used to cope with symptoms of mental or physical conditions, or to help with trauma recovery.

his ear piercings are done by himself. he did them when he was a teenager once he found somewhere to settle in, after running away from the farm. they healed shockingly well, on both sides!
he let a bar regular who was a professional piercer give him an eyebrow piercing, which he thought would balance out his lip scar. but, yk, trained assassin and all, at one point while it's healing he tries to help break up a bar fight, and... uh.... piercings are easy targets in a lot of fights. so. 😬 sorry des....
he shaves the hair on either side of the eyebrow scar so its at least mostly intentional looking tho. he's hot and he knows it, thanks.
i really always have liked the idea of him having a big nose. i didnt get it down right, here, i dont think, but its supposed to look rounded w/ a straight bridge. i spent too long struggling w it and gave up after like 20min. save me

his hair is NOT straight. he's straighter than his hair is. have you seen how he interacts with leonardo. that man isn't het. eat my shoe.
small scars on his eyebrow and his cheek above the lip scar, where the rock that was thrown at him clipped him. the cheek scar is especially pale, but its there. its more visible when he's been in the sun for a while and tans.

broad shouldered :) both a lil fat and a lotta muscle means he's got nice broad shoulders and, tho you cant see it, he's got a tummy and his chest is all soft. i fucked up my sketch and made his neck too skinny but i didnt notice until i zoomed out when i was lining it and by then i was too tired to fix it. kill me.
kept the original silver beads on his necklace that represent his family, but now it represents those who have passed. the ivory beads are ones he commissioned from leonardo, and they represent claudia and maria <3

lip scar is from a training conflict with abbas when they were young, after the death of both of their fathers. altaïr's habit of chewing on things (stimming headcanon of mine!) led to him breaking the scar open repeatedly, which is why it scarred so badly.
his facial hair tend to grow in on the scruffy side. he used to hate it, but adha once told him she found it charming. he came around to liking it, after that.

hi i dont know much about deltarune ngl i dont pay that close attention but what are the odds that kris is. gestures vaguely. helping the knight or whatever. because they feel like they have to bring dess back bc they feel like theyve been abandoned now that asriel is off at college
like a lot of kris' character revolves around isolation and separation doesnt it. the only human in a monster town. adopted into a family. grew apart from their childhood friend (noelle). doesnt the whole flower thing in the more recent chapter (i havent seen that one yet pls spare me) kinda poke at the different "parts" of who kris is + the themes of self discovery w ralsei and all. like

their armor is screwed on like the stitching of a combat harness, impossible to take apart without either irreversible damage or the right tools.
even the legends of their myths cannot remove their earth-planet-home-green armor without the help of others.
their bulky uniforms are what shields them from the warzone and they need a team of technicians to undo their screws. and you, too, become a technician when they let you take apart their mask.
spartans are our saviors, our heroes, our protectors. in being one's undoing, you become one's savior, yourself.
help them lift their helmet, peel back the layers and see what challenge or provocation makes their eyes gleam, and watch with wonder when their expression softens at the sight of your smile and the sound of your voice.
undo their gauntlets and greaves, watch how they move when their actions are not calculated for survival on the battlefield, see what they reach for first and hope that it's your hand.

whumpee who is so unused to physical touch that even getting punched or slapped or pushed around and feeling that skin-to-skin warmth is so much better than nothing. they are used to their punishments being dealt with implements: belts, canes, whips— you name it, so even the painful kind of touch is better than floating and floating and being so utterly and completely unreal. they hate the confusing signals of bruises and hurt and that unwanted rush of desperation for more more more, but they can't help but want it again.
when a character with medical trauma gets injured and has to be coaxed into letting someone else take care of them. when they have to be calmed down before their wounds can even be looked at. when the entire process of being treated is an exercise in agonizing vulnerability, because they have to trust someone else to care for them without hurting them. that’s all thank you.
okay so the trope of "amnesiac falls in love with their partner again even after having lost their memories" is super cute and i am totally a sucker for it. but hear me out: amnesiac falls in love with their friend after losing their memories, when the affection was one-sided before, especially if that one-sided affection was the result of external factors.
on the topic of disabled characters, though, i think a LOT of artists give characters mobility aids that their character wouldn't actually benefit from using.
i'm sort of having a mild brain fog moment rn so i can't fully articulate what i'm on about, but i think a lot of able-bodied artists view things like canes and crutches as interchangeable. and they often don't know enough about the wide range of mobility aids to make an informed decision about what their character might actually use based on their disability
i also think that aids like walkers and rollators are sort of viewed as "cringe" on some level, and many people view them to be "just for old people," so many artists will opt for giving a character who has full-body pain and fatigue a cane (which, in many cases, can potentially WORSEN full-body pain) instead. and a lot of people don't realize that most wheelchair users are able to walk, so they don't consider it an option for characters with chronic pain
idk it's kind of frustrating. i've genuinely never, ever seen a character that uses a rollator before. not once. i cannot name a single one. i know of multiple ocs who are described to have full-body pain, dizziness, and fatigue that are drawn as cane users and are never shown with wheelchairs or walkers, though
it's also sort of sad? i've been diagnosed since i was twelve years old, and i only heard of rollators LAST YEAR. and that was only because i saw one irl and immediately asked what it was. i wonder how many disabled people out there don't even know it's an option solely because they're completely underrepresented online and in media
if you're a creative with a disabled oc, PLEASEEE check out this link. it's a very nice and detailed guide for telling which mobility aids suit someone's needs best. it's incredibly important to make the right choice for your character! mobility aids tell you a LOT about someone's lived experience. picking the right one will communicate to your audience #1 what your character goes through #2 that you UNDERSTAND what your character goes through!
