ok decided to put some info about these two.

Nate goes to Eleanor's school. Emilio does too, but he's actually in his class as well. Elias meets them at a nearby park that's near their school and they eventually get each other's phone numbers to start texting n stuff

Emilio doesn't really interact with Eleanor because he keeps to himself most of the time, so he doesn't recognize Elias as Eleanor. Nate is more social but because he isn't in Eleanor's class he doesn't know him. Even if he did know Eleanor, he'd probably just be weirded out by him and wouldn't wanna interact with him

Nate and Emilio are childhood friends. I think Nate's older sibling would work at a nearby gas station that other students hang out at a lot so he'd be a little popular.

I think if they both find out abt Elias being Eleanor, they'd be pretty shocked (of course) but they wouldn't be too upset. Because guess what, they're gayyyyy (well, emi is bi and nate's gay) and they kind of know what it's like to hide yourself and whatever idkk

A lot of this isn't set in stone yet, we just got the idea for them so they arent completely thought out

Basically, Eleanor is a high schooler that doesn't get much joy out of talking to others. "She's" very antisocial and comes off as rude whenever "she" does end up interacting with other people. But "she's" also trans and hiding it from his family. It genuinely sucks for him being closeted, not being able to be who he really is, yadayadayada.

So he decides that when he goes outside on his own, he's going to present himself as a guy. A guy who is completely different from him. He's friendly, he's social, and his name is Elias. Elias isn't the best at passing for a guy, but he manages to play it off well somehow. He ends up making good friends with people who go to his school, some even in his class, but they don't know that. A lot of them don't really know who Eleanor is, so it doesn't weird them out too much. (This seems unlikely though so if somebody does end up pointing out that Elias looks like Eleanor, he'd probably just say he's "her" cousin or something?)

However, his whole personality isn't just different, it's almost unrecognizable.
