The Spies Who Loved Me

it was not what I expected. the last drama I saw Yoo In Na in was Touch Your Heart so I expected it was like that. it was not. don’t expect anything fun and cute and fluffy.

the acting was good and plot was solid. honestly imagine marrying two spies without even knowing it. I liked that they never played into the love triangle, it was clear they all loved each other (well the boys didn’t really love each other) but that wasn’t the focus of the drama.

Overall a good drama. Easy to watch and enjoyable. It’s a show I wouldn’t take too seriously and just relax with however the second half of the show feels rushed as if it was supposed to be longer than 36 episodes but some were cut out (which may be the case I’m not sure). Some plots points wrapped up very quickly without much explanation as to how, what or why and some things that appeared to be bigger plots were never resolved or talked about again. In my opinion though the missed out parts didn’t lessen my enjoyment of the show though.

On the positive side all of the main cast were great fun to watch. They all had great chemistry together. All of the characters were very easy to love or hate. There was many humourus moments throughout and the best friends of the main people really stole the show when they were on screen together. Super fun relationship between them. The growth of the mains was great to see too. They had a very amusing dynamic even if frustrating at times.

I’d recommend this show if you just want something to pass the time with and and not be too invested in. It does have its sad moments though so be aware of that.

I just finished dating in the kitchen. All in all it was pretty good. I started it once a long while ago but dropped it because I thought the age difference would make me uncomfortable 21 and 36 it a bit of a gap, and I had a bad experience with age gap in Goblin/Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (I will never understand why people like that so much) it made me really uncomfortable because I felt like the power balance was way off and he treated her like a child and in many ways she was too young and naive. I’m really glad I started this again because I didn’t feel like there was any kind of power imbalance in this at all, they treated each other with respect and for the most part they talked things out when there was a problem, I liked that. the relationship felt pretty healthy. 

I must say that I did feel like Lu Jin’s mother was mean for the sake of being mean there was no real reason for her to be like that and she acted in strange ways, like many drama mothers do. I also felt like the characters were a bit superficial and I didn’t have a deep connection with them.

I would recomend it if you want something that’s not too long and pretty easy to watch. It’s was funny and it was nice, not too many bad things to say about it.
