My Thoughts #MyThoughts. about the teacher trio. i talked about it with my sister and she agrees 100% that karasuma's flower from irina should've been A PLATONIC GESTURE. i win

FOR IRINA: i think actually my watching of this feels more positive than last time (i was #consumed by jealousy at the time. as you do) i genuinely think this arc of hers is good im just annoyed that kar.airi is not hitting the full potential that it could have??? man they could have been actually good wtf

their biggest pitfall is that we the audience does not fucking understand what she sees in him HDSGJGSFH he's NEVER been nice to her before??????? not even once??? 😭😭😭😭😭😭 im crying like it's perfectly reasonable for her to have a crush on an emotionally unavailable guy with the life she grew up in but that is so bleak for their ship 😭 lmao. they're trying to set them up as irina realizing she's no longer alone in the world and she has people that care about her but it falls so flat when the people that openly care about her (the students) are in a cage + the guy who's supposed to be proving this plot point for us is,,,,, almost leaving her under the rubble to chase the bad guy. hello. what the fuck

the potential they threw in the trash by not developing the teachers properly is my villain origin story i swear

okay HIS arc was about efficient results at the cost of the purple he cares about or leaning into his personal feelings for people he cares about at the cost of the greater good. and it was executed horribly because this problem just didn't really exist until this episode

tadaomi rejected irina coldly because caring about each other was unprofessional and would prove a detriment to their mission (see: the kids getting trapped because they cared about irina and wanted to save her. he's avoiding stuff like this)

but. but then why doesn't he have a problem openly caring for the children 😐 and risking the mission 😐 for their safety😐 prior to this episode

and yet he never extends that same care to irina. he's barely even nice to her beyond the bare minimum it's so frustrating. im so confused. which one is it. who do i have to clobber for this smh

i hate that she seems to change for him but. he's literally exactly the same as usual. ugh

i wish they actually gave him a character to work with and stay consistent to instead of this absolute mess

i liked that ending of them walking side by side to show that they're on the same wavelength again but gods is it unearned,,

FOR ARI: oh boy

this is complicated. im still on the fence about what to do next. but i DO like him being revealed as a reaper here since this is mostly a teachers dynamic episode (and quite literally reaper time) that makes sense

let's just assume that he does accidentally reveal himself here

karasuma calls ari then tells him to stay put while he gets back the kids. ari can't stand for that obviously so he follows them

then ari realizes who they're up against. he is furious

he's a little late due to not being able to use the main entrance or else he'll get caught but he definitely went in through the sewer system somehow

probably shows up during shinigami and karasuma's battle, looking like a swamp monster, absolutely fucking livid. so he shoots shinigami. korosensei still saves karasuma

would like to establish also that ari is very much going to kick the shit out of shinigami for kidnapping the kids (karma, notably; he made shinigami promise not to interfere with his personal life after they parted ways after all)

ari tries to flee back to the shadows, but is probably spotted by irina on the rails, who he didn't know would be there. karasuma makes chase, they fight, ari's forced into a corner

he makes korosensei swear not to tell the students. but irina and tadaomi know now. and they let him go with mixed feelings

they're going to have a very long talk about this
