Melancholy Wonderland

Of a man who wears his scars —

Proudly —

Like they weren’t mistakes?

Like he didn’t care you could see them?

Like they were beautiful tattoos?

Feet pounding on pavement

Breath panting in the night

Outrun there world and give everyone the run around

Only to wind back up where you started

I love you less and less

I’m starting to look forward

There’s a hurricane running through my veins

Tearing my heart apart

Tearing my life apart

Feeding off the very man it banes.

Every time I turn it towards it myself

I bleed a little harder

And steam a little longer

Losing myself upon this shelf.

Turning it around on all of you

Wouldn’t solve the problem at all

Wouldn’t salve the wound on my soul
