GOOD MORNING JOHFAM
𝓥em 𝓓esestressar | johnny suh
“pede no ouvido do johnny...”
— Claro, Johnny.

stranger!johnny x stranger!reader
w.c: 3.9k / fluff, stranger to lovers
Your life had been feeling strange ever since you defended your master's thesis. For long months that seemed to never end, you found yourself imagining what it would be like to submit the final version of your dissertation, present it to the committee, and go back to your apartment without so many worries. You thought that, when that happened, you would finally know what that so-called freedom felt like. You discovered, however, that you didn't really know what to do with it.
For the first time in years, there wasn't an article to revise, a meeting scheduled, or a deadline blinking red on your calendar. Now it was just you, a quiet apartment, and a few months off, looking over the job offer you had received.
So, on some random night, while browsing a few travel websites, you ended up buying a ticket to Italy.
You didn't choose the destination by chance. You had always listened to your grandparents talk about how beautiful the landscapes were and how romantic the atmosphere felt, as if any street corner could hide someone's love of their life, reinforcing the romantic atmosphere of the place. Ever since then, Italy had seemed like a distant dream, or something trapped inside the Pinterest boards you had made while thinking, “maybe one day I'll visit.”
Until that day finally came.
Finally, you were in a small village in Italy, Monterosso al Mare, in Cinque Terre, complete with colorful little houses, flowers decorating the windows, a blue sky worthy of summer, and a beach that always took your breath away. You had spent months organizing this trip, researching the places you wanted to visit, restaurants serving traditional food, and even the most famous gelaterias. You put everything into spreadsheets, even giving each day of your trip its own color and planning the times you would spend at each place, so you could make the most of every minute.
It was already your third day, and everything was going exactly as you had planned. You had found and checked into the small hotel, visited some of the places on your itinerary, and even taken a day trip to a nearby village without a single train being delayed. You hadn't gone over your budget, the weather forecast had been accurate every day, and you were following your spreadsheet perfectly.
That afternoon, the goal was simple: visit the oldest gelateria in the village. After spending a few minutes staring indecisively at the counter, you chose the Sicilian lemon flavor. It wasn't your usual choice, but you were willing to try new things. You ended up being pleasantly surprised because, besides being delicious, it was incredibly refreshing, perfectly matching the weather. Maybe it was the best gelato you had ever tasted.
You walked leisurely down the narrow street, taking in everything around you and enjoying your gelato. Tourists photographed every little corner of the village, locals chatted in front of their shops, and the smell of lemon seemed to mix with the salty breeze coming from the sea.
Everything was going well until you felt an impact against your shoulder. It was strong enough to make your gelato fly out of the cone and stain the little white blouse you were wearing.
This couldn't be happening.
It was a white shirt you really liked, perfect for the warm weather. Not to mention that you had separated your clothes by day. You turned around, closed your eyes, and took a deep breath, as if that would give you enough sanity not to lose it at the clumsy person who had caused this.
“Oh my God, I'm sorry! I swear I didn't see you.” You heard a male voice apologizing with just as much desperation as you felt. You slowly opened your eyes, ready to complain to the clumsy stranger, but your words disappeared when you came face to face with a man holding a crooked gelato that looked like it was about to meet the same fate as yours, a worried expression on his face. His dark hair was messy in such a perfect way that you even thought the wind had been paid to make it look like that. He was wearing a linen shirt with the first few buttons undone, revealing skin slightly tanned by the Italian sun and a small glimpse of a tattoo, with sunglasses hanging from the collar.
He looked at your gelato, or rather, what was left of it, then looked at your shirt before looking back at your face, which was flushed. You couldn't tell if it was because of the sun or because of the stranger's gaze. “This definitely wasn't the best way to meet someone.”
You laughed at his attempt to make a joke. You wanted to stay angry, complain that your blouse was dirty, but his genuine concern, combined with the smile plastered across his face, made things difficult. “It really isn't, but accidents happen, don't worry.” The stranger seemed relieved to realize that you weren't as angry as he had expected.
“Then let me fix what I did. Can I buy you another gelato?” he said, pointing toward the gelateria. “I promise I won't drop it this time.”
You laughed, not because of the joke, but because he seemed genuinely worried and wanted to make it up to you somehow. “You don't have to…”
“Yes, I do! It's the least I can do after ruining your shirt and your gelato.”
You looked at your shirt for a while and then at the cup, which was now empty. Maybe a new gelato would make the situation better.
“Sicilian lemon,” you said, confusing the man. “That's the flavor I ordered.”
His eyes seemed to gain a subtle spark. He gestured with his hands for you to wait exactly where you were, and minutes later, the man came back with the gelato in his hands, handing it to you. “Here it is, safe and sound.”
“Thank you so much…” You realized that you didn't know his name. After all, with all that chaos, you had forgotten to ask.
“John. But everyone calls me Johnny.” You introduced yourself as well. “Are you traveling al-” Johnny was interrupted by your alarm, which indicated that you should already be heading to the beach.
“Oh my God, I'm late!”
“Wait, late for what?”
“I have to go, see you!” you said as you practically ran away, leaving Johnny completely confused, but with a smile on his face. His plan to spend the whole afternoon getting to know more about the “woman in the white shirt” had failed, but something told him that you would end up running into each other sooner or later.
The next day, you were going to take a train to a little town next to yours, so you needed to wake up earlier than usual to make the most of every moment. After showering and having a hearty breakfast, you checked the items inside your backpack, which you had organized the night before, as well as checking the day's schedule on your inseparable spreadsheet. Aside from the incident with Johnny and your shirt, everything was going exactly as you had planned.
When you arrived at the train station, you looked for the platform for Vernazza, your next destination. Since you had arrived early, you had time to look around more calmly, without the rush you were used to in your everyday life. When you reached the departure board, you spotted a tall man who was also looking at the destinations. You had the feeling you knew him from somewhere. It took you a moment, but then you recognized him.
“Johnny?”
He looked just as surprised as you, but smiled as he said your name. “I didn't expect to see you here.”
“Me neither, but what are you doing here?”
“I missed the train I was supposed to take, so now I'm here deciding where I'm going,” he answered as if it wasn't that important.
“You missed your train? How?” You were genuinely concerned. What did he mean, he was deciding where to go?
“I got distracted watching a cat.” You could swear he looked embarrassed to admit that he had gotten distracted by something as simple as a little cat. “But before you judge me, it was a very pretty cat.”
You ended up laughing for the first time without trying to hide it, and Johnny laughed along, finding your smile adorable. “Where are you going?”
“Vernazza.”
He looked at the board, saw that there was still time to buy a ticket, and said, “Then I'm going too.”
You looked at him strangely. “But that wasn't your destination…”
He simply smiled and shrugged. “It is now.”
A short while later, you were already on the train to Vernazza, a short journey that would last only a few minutes. Seeing that there was only one seat available, Johnny, being the gentleman he was, offered it to you. You hesitated for a moment, but eventually gave in.
As soon as you arrived in Vernazza, you immediately grabbed your spreadsheet to see where the first stop would be: a café for a quick coffee before lunch.
“Are you coming with me?” you asked the man, who probably hadn't planned anything for this quick trip.
“If my company won't get in your way… Besides, I really love coffee.”
When you arrived at the café, you decided to have your coffee at the counter. That moment was the perfect opportunity to get to know your newest travel companion a little better. Johnny was an architect who looked for inspiration in the trips he took. He was the same age as you and was also taking some time off, using it to dedicate time to another passion: photography. That was why he had a disposable camera in his hands, ready to photograph the little details of the trip.
As soon as you left the café, you walked calmly through the beautiful streets of Vernazza and, for the first time since arriving in Italy, you weren't constantly looking at the clock on your phone, worried about the schedule you had prepared. Instead, you found yourself watching Johnny photograph little things and moments that caught his attention, but that would have gone completely unnoticed by you: a yellow bicycle leaning against a brick wall, an elderly woman taking care of the little flower pots on the window of her small house, a kitten sleeping peacefully on top of a low wall.
You couldn't help but be impressed, but also curious. “Can I ask you something?” you said, catching Johnny's attention as he lowered his camera and looked at you. “Why do you photograph such simple things?”
He simply answered, “Because people prefer to photograph the obvious things and end up ignoring the beauty that exists in simple moments in life, like that old lady over there.”
You smiled, looking at the old lady.
As you walked, Johnny became intrigued by how organized you were, with every place marked on your spreadsheet and every alarm going off to indicate where you should go. “Sorry for asking, but do you really have to follow that spreadsheet?”
“Of course!” you answered without taking your eyes off your phone. “That way I can enjoy everything I want to and still manage my time well.”
Then Johnny spotted a little staircase between two small buildings and became curious. “What if we go that way?” he said, pointing toward the staircase.
“But that's not on my list…”
He started climbing the steps, leaving you behind. You had two options: either stay there alone and follow your itinerary or follow your newest travel companion. You chose the second, but not before complaining a little more about going off the itinerary. Your complaints stopped when you reached a viewpoint where you could have a perfect view of the city, which looked even more beautiful beneath the sky in shades of orange, announcing the end of the afternoon. You stared at everything, speechless, enchanted by what your eyes were seeing. “This is beautiful!”
Your eyes were fixed on the scenery, while Johnny… Well, he spent some time admiring both the view and you. The way the wind moved your hair, the way your eyes sparkled when you discovered that incredible place, the way your smile had the ability to make the place even brighter. So he took out his camera and quickly snapped a picture. After a while, you noticed that Johnny was standing still, simply observing everything.
“Wait, aren't you going to take the opportunity to take some pictures?”
“But I already did.” Then he offered you the camera, showing you the picture he liked the most.
It was you.
The following days, already back in Monterosso, went by faster than you had imagined, especially because you hadn't expected to spend them in Johnny's company. You discovered a bookstore hidden in an alley in the central part of the village, where you spent hours reading and talking, trying not to speak too loudly. Johnny insisted that you try a cannoli, claiming that the trip would only be complete if you ate one. You made Johnny go to a place specializing in focaccia so you could share one because, according to your research, it was the highest-rated place in Cinque Terre. He pretended to complain about your complete organization, but deep down he admitted that you made some of the best choices.
And just like that, the last day of the trip had arrived, and at that moment, you were at the beach. You sat on the sand, looking at the vastness of that blue sea. Or rather, at Johnny, who was swimming in it, carefree, simply enjoying every moment. You thought about how he had transformed your trip, making everything even more magical. At that moment, he waved at you, calling you to come into the water with him, but you simply shook your head, calling him to stay there with you. It was obvious that you had developed incredible chemistry during those days, but unfortunately, the time to say goodbye was getting closer.
When Johnny came out of the sea, you ended up smiling without realizing it. Maybe he was, in fact, a very handsome man, but during those days you had discovered that his smile caught your attention much more. It was the kind of smile that belonged to someone who seemed genuinely happy to be there, and it always made you feel the same way whenever you saw it.
“I can't believe you came to the beach and you're not going to enjoy the sea,” Johnny said as he sat beside you, while you handed him a towel.
“But there are many ways to enjoy it…”
Johnny gave you a sideways smile as he ran the towel through his wet hair. “And what's your way, Miss Organization?”
You rolled your eyes at the nickname and shrugged. “Oh, just staying here, looking at the view… enjoying the day.”
He chuckled softly. For a few seconds, you remained silent, simply listening to the sound of the waves and the distant voices of some families enjoying the last moments of sunlight. And at that moment, you found yourself thinking about how amazing it would be to have someone like Johnny in your life. What would have happened if you had met in the city where you lived? Would you have been friends? Boyfriend and girlfriend? Would you have gone out for dinner at night or watched a movie at his apartment? You didn't know what would have happened, but you knew you would miss him. You hadn't realized it, but while you were having these thoughts, you were staring intently at the man while he looked out at the sea.
“I swear I'll send you a picture of myself so you can admire me for much longer,” Johnny said jokingly, feeling your gaze on him, making you laugh and snap out of your thoughts. He turned his attention away from the sea and looked at you, as if he knew exactly what you had been thinking. “What are you thinking about?”
“That I don't want this to end.”
You thought he would make some kind of joke, but he simply watched you, as if he wanted to memorize every detail of your face and make the most of every minute he still had with you.
You smiled, feeling that you should do something your heart had wanted to do for a long time.
“Can I do something that isn't on any of my spreadsheets?” Johnny smiled and simply nodded.
You slowly moved closer, never breaking eye contact with Johnny, and lightly touched his chin, gently caressing it. Johnny understood what you wanted to do, but he didn't rush and, although he had also wanted to kiss you for a long time, he wanted you to lead the moment.
Your lips touched his in a sweet, unhurried kiss, making the most of every second of that encounter. You pulled away for a few seconds and smiled at each other, and just as you were about to wipe the gloss from Johnny's lips, you felt his hand on your neck, pulling you into a more passionate kiss, as if he truly wanted to taste you, to make sure that all of this was real. Your hands moved over his broad shoulders, anchoring yourself to him and pulling him closer. The lack of air forced you to break the kiss.
“That was… incredible,” Johnny said, trying to catch his breath, his forehead resting against yours. “You had no idea how badly I wanted to kiss you before. Too bad tomorrow you're going to—” He was interrupted by your lips, in a quick kiss. You didn't want to think about goodbyes yet.
“Johnny, don't ruin the moment! I don't want to think about that now that we're…”
“Making out like crazy on the beach? I also don't think this is the best time to bring that up.” You laughed, lightly smacking his arm. That's when you realized he had his arm around your waist. “So, tonight, we're going to be the most romantic couple Italy has ever seen. Be ready at eight, because tonight we're going to have an unforgettable night.”
And right on time, Johnny was standing in front of your hotel, pacing back and forth. He didn't understand why, but he was nervous about going on a date with you. Well, you hadn't exactly made it clear that it was a date, but to him, it definitely was. After all, you had spent days sharing moments, discovering places, and getting to know each other little by little, so that night felt different. Maybe he was nervous because he knew it would be your last night together before you both went your separate ways. Either way, he couldn't stop himself from smiling when he finally saw you.
When you walked toward him, wearing a floral dress that delicately outlined your body, Johnny froze for a few seconds. You were definitely one of the most beautiful and coolest women he had ever met, and he wondered how it was possible that someone he had met by chance on a street in Monterosso had become so important to him in such a short amount of time. Clearly, fate was on his side.
Your heart also skipped a beat when you saw Johnny, smiling, his eyes shining when he saw you, even though he had spent the entire afternoon with you. And that was one of the things you had learned to love about him over the past few days: he always seemed genuinely happy to see you.
With a quick kiss and a “you look beautiful,” he held out one of his hands to guide you to a restaurant nearby. The place looked like it had come straight out of one of the pictures you had saved to your Pinterest boards. It had an old-fashioned, traditional decor, complete with little lights illuminating the tables outside, making the atmosphere incredibly cozy, sharing the space with a small band that played traditional Italian songs, some slower and more dramatic, others so lively that they made the customers clap along and sing with them.
You couldn't help but smile when you realized that, at any other point during that trip, you probably would have researched the restaurant beforehand, checked the menu and read the reviews. But that night, you weren't worried about the time or about checking the spreadsheet in advance. You just wanted to enjoy the night, with Johnny sitting across from you.
The night went by, and the two of you were having so much fun that you didn't notice the time passing. You ate delicious dishes, taking the opportunity to try some of each other's food, and talked about everything you could possibly imagine. You laughed about your first impressions of each other, without failing to remember the gelato disaster and Johnny getting distracted by a kitten and missing his train.
The music changed, giving way to a much more upbeat melody, enough to make some people get up from their tables to dance. Johnny watched the movement for a few seconds before looking at you. “Shall we?”
You widened your eyes in surprise. “Johnny, I don't know how to dance.”
“And do you think I do?” he said, laughing. “I just want to enjoy this and make tonight unforgettable. I promised you that earlier.”
He held out his hand, and your eyes moved between it and the small dance floor improvised between the tables. You were going to blame the glass of wine, but you took Johnny's hand, and he smiled when he saw that you had agreed to the idea.
And that was how you ended up dancing among other couples, laughing every time one of the others messed up a step or bumped into another couple. Johnny even tried to lead you, but it was clear that he had no idea what he was doing.
The night had been magical for both of you, but quite some time had passed, and you decided to go back to the hotel. The walk had been short, but Johnny hugged you the entire way, as if he didn't want to let you go. Every now and then, you slowed your steps just to make the walk seem a little longer. You laughed at some silly comment Johnny had made, and he thought about how much he was going to miss your smiles.
When you reached the hotel, you stopped in front of it. For a few seconds, you remained silent and continued holding hands, as if neither of you was truly ready to let go. You looked at Johnny, and he looked at you with the same intensity.
“I guess this is when we go our separate ways,” Johnny said, but, judging by the tone of his voice, it wasn't necessarily what he wanted to say.
You felt your chest tighten because you knew the night would end at some point, but deep down, you weren't ready for it. You knew you would both return home and go back to the lives you had before meeting each other.
However, something told you that it was impossible for that moment to end there with a simple “good night” and maybe a kiss.
“But…” The word escaped your lips before you could think better of it. You took a deep breath, looking at the hands that refused to let go of each other. You thought it would be crazy to do what you were about to do, but you knew you would regret it if you didn't. You smiled, absentmindedly playing with his fingers. “I don't think tonight has to end just yet.”
For a few seconds, Johnny simply stared at you, with such a genuinely surprised expression that you ended up letting out a little laugh.
And that's how, minutes later, you were in Johnny's room. As soon as the door closed, he pulled you into his arms, finding your lips in a warm kiss that you returned with the same intensity. Your hands went into his hair, messing up the strands that were already disheveled, and Johnny smiled against your lips before kissing you again.
The kiss only ended when you needed to breathe, the perfect opportunity for Johnny to turn you around and pepper kisses along your neck, making you laugh softly and shiver when his lips reached a particularly sensitive spot. His fingers quickly found the zipper of your dress, and when it fell to the floor, you turned to him again, pulling him by the collar of his shirt to close any space that still existed between you.
That night, you were alone together. For the first time since you had arrived in Italy, you didn't have anywhere you absolutely had to be afterward or a worry about the time. You were where you were supposed to be and with someone who, in such a short time, had become so special to you.
And that was why you had committed this “craziness.” You wanted to enjoy that moment with Johnny and forget about everything that would come afterward. That you would have to catch a plane the next day, that you would have to go back home and make decisions about the direction your life would take. You had all the time in the world to decide what to do.
But that moment with Johnny was unique.

“Meu Deus, me desculpe!
“Acabei me distraindo vendo um gato.”
Então, ele tirou a câmera e fotografou rapidamente.

Stand up straight, look casual but happy, eyes on Julie while she speaks, eyes back to Ariana— fuck, breathe! You repeat mentally, occupying your hands from nervous fidgeting by interlacing your fingers.
Just one spot over, Julie is smiling brightly, gushing enthusiastically, "my type of man is a proper country boy. I want a man who's good with his hands, knows what he wants, and has lots of muscles."
Ariana smiles, asks Julie a few more questions and then moves onto you, the last girl in the lineup. You introduce yourself, give all your basic details and then pause when you get asked what you're looking for, "I don't like saying I have a specific physical type but I've had a history of being more attracted to guys with dark hair and dark eyes. I like a guy who's taller than me and ooh! I like tattoos too!"
The girls around you laugh at your excitement, you smile before you continue, "but I won't get upset if a man that looks like that doesn't walk in. I really am here looking for love and that comes from someone's character more than their looks. I really want someone who's genuine, straightforward, a gentleman, kind, and thoughtful. Gosh, I could go on all day!"
"Well," Ariana grins, lifting a hand, "let's see what Love Island has to offer! Please help me welcome our first male islander, Jack!"
One by one the guys come down, introduce themselves and eye you all hopefully, eager to see who is willing to step forward for them first. As it stands, Anna is coupled up with Jack, Nicki is coupled up with Isaac, and Emily is coupled up with Ethan.
"Please welcome, Johnny!" Ariana announces, gesturing to the villa walkway.
