LOVE ROCK AWAITS YOU...

Today marks 3 years since I moved to Seattle!

I left an abusive and exploitive situation, and needed a clean slate (blogged my crisis on here).

I moved with less than $3,000, one suitcase, and a freelance editing gig. I didn't know anyone.

The first six months were some of the most challenging of my life, but I am still here!

I have a stable job now, got involved in radio, made the front of the Seattle Times, started dance classes, and met so many wonderful people. I am happier and feel more like the self I'm supposed to be.

Because I FINALLY expressed my discomfort with my parents, now my dad is pissed at me and doesn't get why I don't want much of a relationship with her. "She's talking about God and scripture, so I don't see the problem?"

Now he won't talk to me, nor my sister, who also voiced her concerns about my grandmother. Of course, grandmother was dramatic and made herself out to be the wronged party.

Mom would always complain about us not telling her things and coming to her, but...

My mom tried to talk to both of them and made things worse. My parents were already mad at each other because my other grandma and my mom tricked my youngest sister into moving out (buying her a plane ticket and not telling her it was one-way and she wouldn't be able to come back).

Now my parents are not on good terms, and when I checked on my mom, she said, "That's what I get for standing up for y'all."
