Since I’m already in the mood for betraying all of my feelings (perhaps stealing mum’s bottle of wine from the fridge is aiding this endeavor), I need to ask: is it because we held hands in the dark after Remus’ birthday party? Is it because I kissed you on the cheek afterward and told you that I love you differently than I love my other friends? Is it because of something different entirely, where I’ve supremely fucked up without knowing it? Whatever it may be, I’m sorry. And I miss you. And I want to have tea at sunrise and dance to the songs on the radio and forget all about the weirdness with you.

I will be awake agonizing over this letter from the moment I send it, so I really prefer you’d call in lieu of using my elderly owl as a method of communication. I need to feel okay about us again.

6 - phone in bed either extremely late at night or early in the morning. i understand that this is crazy. on very rare occasions it will be laptop at library (only for pg rated stuff tho LMAO. i do not write anything explicit in public bc that feels weird to me)

10 - not really. i have some loose notes if i have ideas for upcoming chapters that i am afraid of forgetting. but even those are vague bc the ideas are mostly just in my head

2 - my inspo usually strikes when i'm at work. there are parts of my shift where there is downtime in which i'm still *doing* things but don't necessarily have to devote as much brain power, so my mind tends to wander to jily! also the shower lol. this is usually when i'm thinking over my (very loosely) outlined plots and determining if there are any egregious errors + what new directions to take

4 - i usually write a complete draft that i will edit once right before posting! if i am browsing through my doc and see any errors (grammatical, not quite what i wanted to convey, etc.) i will fix it, but this doesn't happen very often. typically it's exclusively the one time edit

8 - i’m most excited for the louder than words sequel! currently writing the first chapter and it’s so refreshing to be writing established relationship jily for the first time!

It’s actually crazy to be done writing LTW and nearly done posting it! This has been consuming my personal time for months now, so for it to be ending is very strange — but conducive to it being sequel time ;)

I’ve not fully fleshed out the sequel plot yet BUT here’s some main things that will be Going On throughout:

-jily being happy together! They deserve love and happiness and being carefree. The sequel WILL heavily feature their wedding :) and lots of domestic bliss before and after

-lily’s relationship to motherhood/being a daughter. I don’t think I will be including harry in this (yet) (trilogy????? jk i’m Not Ready for all that); rather, i’ll be talking about her relationship to her mother and euphemia, how they contrast, and how she’s able to find what she’s been missing with her new family!

-some grief (obviously). because everything i write is ab grief somehow, and i don’t believe that lily will ever be fully moved on from it (nor should she be!). but it will be a DIFFERENT kind of grief than in LTW as she’ll have had a lot more time to live and grow

-james and lily exploring their new careers! i won’t spoil their specific jobs but they DO both relate to piano!! some more of lily’s feminism in music will be relating to this as well !

-i want mary to still be an important character! i think she’ll live nearby to jily and be sort of in the same career space as lily

-more of remus but idk how yet

I’m planning on having them already be engaged with the start of the fic (it is set 4 yrs post-louder than words; they will have graduated from university the summer prior), so there won’t be a specific proposal scene, but I’ll probably describe The Moment in retrospect!

Since the sequel is set a few years in the future there won’t be any of Lily’s first summer working with Euphemia, but their relationship will still be heavily featured throughout!! I want to emphasize how much Lily needs Euphemia as the mother that she never really got to have, which includes their collaboration as pianists together — just not the specific summer after first year of uni collab alluded to in louder than words! :)

I’m also very happy to be writing the sequel! I was not ready to be out of this extremely specific jily universe that I’ve formed in my head — but it’s so gratifying to hear that it’s not just me!
