i keep imagining a world where bruce doesn't introduce robin to the justice league for quite a while and the only information they have on dick is straight from the little bits of information bruce tells them during meetings and missions, and they just get. the complete wrong idea.

bruce will offhandedly mention that his 'fellow vigilante, dick' helped him with a similar mission to the one the JLA are struggling with, and mentions some genius detective move dick pulled out that solved them the case, and in the JLA's mind they instantly imagine that dick is like, some twenty+ year old gifted colleague that bruce has back in gotham. bruce talks about dick like he's an equal, so they have no reason to believe that dick is anything otherwise. bruce will be like 'yeah sorry i'm late i had a meeting with dick about that drug trafficking ring we're working to take down and he convinced me to stay for a cup of coffee so i'd sit down for twenty minutes.' and the JLA are all like :) im so glad batman has a mature and responsible friend in gotham who cares about his wellbeing :)

and then eventually bruce brings this fucking. nine year old traffic light child to the watchtower with a lollipop in hand and coloured pen smudges on his knuckles, and bruce is like 'this is my partner, dick, also known as robin.' and dick starts chirping about how jealous his classmates would be if they knew he was meeting the JLA or some shit. and the justice league just have to stare at bruce for a Really Long Time.

superhero power creep is so funny especially for nonpowered characters can you imagine if dick fell over and cried for batman every time he twisted his ankle in the field instead of just blinking through it a twisted ankle is basically a papercut to him these days. the injury inflation rate is skyrocketing in this economy
