Six upcoming YA anthologies by Chiara @ Delicate Eternity
Anthologies are great for a number of reasons, most of all being that they collect some seriously awesome authors together, and they have short stories that you can read when you’re pressed for time. To help out anthology lovers and YA lovers, I’ve compiled a list of YA anthologies coming up in the rest of 2018. Enjoy!
Fresh Ink: An Anthology
In partnership with We Need Diverse Books, thirteen of the most recognizable, diverse authors come together in this remarkable YA anthology featuring ten short stories, a graphic short story, and a one-act play from Walter Dean Myers never before in-print.
I think almost everyone in the YA book community knows about We Need Diverse Books, and now they have their own YA anthology in the works! There are some are some favourite YA authors in there, as well as some fresh names. I’m particularly excited for Malinda Lo’s story because I love her writing.

(Don’t) Call Me Crazy
Algonquin Young Readers has acquired an anthology from Kelly Jensen titled (Don’t) Call Me Crazy, which will explore, through essays, artwork, poetry, and other ephemera, the ways that mental illness impacts individuals, family and friends, with contributions from Victoria Schwab, Adam Silvera, Libba Bray, Esmé Wang, Yumi Sakugawa, Mike Jung, s.e. smith, Meredith Russo, and Stephanie Kuehn, among others.
I hadn’t heard of this anthology until I started looking around for this post, but now that I know it’s coming, I’m excited for it. Silvera, Schwab, and Bray are three of my favourite authors, and I’m looking forward to learning more about their experiences.

Meet Me at the Intersection
Meet Me at the Intersection is an anthology of short fiction, memoir and poetry by authors who are First Nations, People of Colour, LGBTIQA+ or living with disability. The focus of the anthology is on Australian life as seen through each author’s unique, and seldom heard, perspective.
Another all-Aussie YA anthology! I remember when Lim and Kwaymullina hosted Voices from the Intersection in 2017, and I’m excited to see that the theme remains the same in their anthology. I love that there’s a blend of new and established Aussie writers in this anthology, and I’m pretty excited to read it.

A Thousand Beginnings and Endings
Star-crossed lovers, meddling immortals, feigned identities, battles of wits, and dire warnings. These are the stuff of fairy tale, myth, and folklore that have drawn us in for centuries. Fifteen bestselling and acclaimed authors reimagine the folklore and mythology of East and South Asia in short stories that are by turns enchanting, heartbreaking, romantic, and passionate.
That first line has me hooked, line and sinker. And that absolutely beautiful cover is just the cherry on top. Roshani Chokshi is one of my favourite authors so I know I’ll be reading her story first. I’m also very excited for Cindy Pon’s story, as hers was my favourite from the Because You Love to Hate Me anthology, and I also loved her book WANT.

Unbroken: 13 Stories Starring Disabled Teens
A YA Anthology of short stories featuring disabled teens, written by #OwnVoices disabled authors. The stories reflect a range of genres and disabilities; contributors include bestselling authors Kody Keplinger and Francisco X. Stork, as well as newcomers Fox Benwell, Keah Brown, and more.
Can I have a heck yeah for this anthology? And also some hype for it because I haven’t seen anyone talking about it yet! And it sounds amazing. I’m so ready for this anthology.

Toil and Trouble: 15 Tales of Women & Witchcraft
A young adult fiction anthology of 15 stories featuring contemporary, historical, and futuristic stories featuring witchy heroines who are diverse in race, class, sexuality, religion, geography, and era. Are you a good witch or a bad witch?
YES to everything about this anthology! It honestly sounds amazing, and I hope the words inside are as awesome as that cover *heart eyes* I’ve wanted to read this book for what feels like forever, so I’m super excited that the wait is almost over. Bring on the witches.
