It was good for a while, being empty. I didn’t hurt anymore. But as time went on, it was like I could hear myself from far away, begging for permission to come back.

For the most part, you don't hold the people you love in your heart because they rescued you from drowning or pulled you from a burning house.

But just because you’re strong and resilient doesn’t mean you never need someone to be there for you, to take care of you.
