Saturday finally rolled around, and for the first time in what felt like forever, you had plans that didn’t involve grocery lists, soccer practice, homework, or making dinner. Your friends had been begging you for weeks to come out with them, insisting one night away from the mansion wouldn’t make the world fall apart.
You stood in front of your large bedroom mirror smoothing fixingyour outfit, finishing your makeup with lip gloss before slipping on a pair of earrings. It wasn’t anything extravagant, and it definitely wasn’t designer. Just enough to feel hot again. Your dress was short, black. Had lace in the right spots. It pushed your breasts up and made them look almost fake. You knew you had a nice body, you normally just never showed it. Your hair was done and you even took an everything shower before this. You looked hot, and finally felt young again. A soft knock came at your door before it slowly creaked open.
Megumi peeked his head inside. “…Where are you going?” You smiled at him through the mirror. “My friends are kidnapping me.” He accepted the answer immediately. “Okay.” You laughed. “You’re not even going to question it?” He shrugged. “You’ll come back.” Your heart warmed. “I will.” “Are they dressed like that too?” You laughed “Remember the girls from when I brought you with me to brunch?” “Yeah barely that was over a year ago” “It’s them, they’d love to see you and how old you’ve gotten” “I’d have to look nice” “You’re thirteen Megumi, don’t get the wrong idea” you said as he shrugged. He laughed and left before you could throw a heel at his head.
As you stepped into the hallway, your heels clicking softly against the hardwood floors, Toji happened to be walking toward the staircase with his laptop tucked beneath one arm. He looked up absentmindedly… then stopped walking altogether. For just a second, he simply stared. He’d only ever seen you in oversized sweaters, leggings, messy buns, or flour-covered aprons. Seeing you dressed up caught him completely off guard. You tilted your head. “Do I look crazy?” You asked as he inhaled and looked at your dress. He blinked, clearing his throat. “…No.” A small smile tugged at your lips. “Good.”
The two of you walked downstairs together. You grabbed your purse from the entry table while Toji instinctively reached for his briefcase. You looked at him, then at the briefcase, then back at him. “Come with me.” He actually laughed. “Absolutely not.” “Why?” “Because clubs aren’t for 33 year old businessmen.” “You’re acting like you’re eighty.” You crossed your arms. “You’ve barely left this house unless it’s for work.” “Work is leaving the house.” “That doesn’t count.” “It absolutely counts.” “No, it doesn’t.” you said while he tried hard to hold eye contact, your breasts stealing his eyes every now and then.
Mrs. Tanaka walked through the foyer carrying a basket of folded towels. Without even slowing down she casually said, “I think it would do you good, sir.” Toji stared at her in disbelief. “…Really?” She smiled innocently. “Fresh air is healthy.” “It’s a nightclub.” “Still outside the office.”
Megumi wandered into the foyer just in time to hear the conversation. “Go.” Toji looked at him like he’d been personally betrayed. “Whose side are you on?” “Y/n’s.” “Traitor.” You couldn’t stop laughing. “See? Democracy has spoken.” Toji pinched the bridge of his nose and let out the longest sigh imaginable. “Fine.” Your eyes lit up. “Really?” “I will be having a drink or two.” He said making you roll your eyes. “It’ll be nice to have a man with us anyway, sometimes guys are gross” you said making him now fully agree to come with you without question. Almost protective now that the thought was in his head of a man approaching you.
Twenty minutes later you found yourself standing in front of his huge walk-in closet. You stared silently at the rows of perfectly pressed suits hanging side by side. Black. Navy. Gray. Black again. “Toji.” “Hm?” “You dress like you attend funerals for a living.” He looked genuinely confused. “I attend meetings.” “Same thing.” He folded his arms while you dug through the closet until you finally found a fitted black button-up and a pair of dark jeans hidden in the back. “Wear these.” He looked at the outfit. “…People wear jeans to clubs?” “Yes.” “Voluntarily?” “Yes.” “Strange.”
A while later he came downstairs wearing exactly what you’d picked out. The shirt hugged his shoulders nicely, making his big arms look even bigger. The top two buttons undone. No tie. No suit jacket. His hair had been pushed back instead of perfectly combed into place. Mrs. Tanaka stopped dusting the entry table. “…Well.” Megumi looked up from the couch. “…Dad.” Toji frowned. “What?” “You look good.” “I’ve looked good before.” Megumi shook his head. “No.” You laughed so hard you had to lean against the wall.
The drive into the city was surprisingly easy. Toji spent most of it questioning every life decision that had led him there while you simply smiled out the passenger window. “You’re enjoying this far too much.” “A little.”
The music inside the club pulsed through the floor the moment the two of you walked in. Colored lights danced across the crowded room as your friends immediately spotted you. They rushed over, wrapping you in hugs before one of them finally noticed the 6’1 large man quietly standing beside you.
“…Who is that?” You grinned. “Boyfriend?” “No.” “Your bodyguard?” “No.” “Then who is he?” You looked over at Toji, who already looked concerned. “He’s Megumi’s dad.” they all stared for a second. Seeing this handsome man for the first time after you’ve talked about him for years. “So this is his after divorce club night?” The other friend asked while eyeing him. Toji nodded and laughed nervously. “So you’re single?” “Yes” he replied back to her. Something in your chest turned from this exchange. You weren’t aware why but it annoyed you.
“He might be on the radar but he’s off limits tonight” you said while you all found a nice spot Away from the younger people. “He’s my emotional support man tonight” you said while wrapping your arm around his. Your entire friend group burst into laughter. Toji closed his eyes for a second.
“…That’s what we’re calling me?” “For tonight.” “I see.” Even he couldn’t hide the smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
The night passed easier than he’d expected. He wasn’t much of a dancer, choosing instead to sit with a drink and watch everyone else embarrass themselves. Every so often one of your friends would wander over to include him in conversation. They expected him to be cold. Intimidating. Difficult. Instead they discovered he had the driest sense of humor imaginable. One friend accidentally spilled half her drink trying to tell a story.
Toji calmly handed her a stack of napkins. “I think the table was thirsty.” She laughed so hard she nearly dropped the cup again. Another friend asked what he did for fun. “Sleep.”
“No hobbies?” “I enjoy canceling meetings.” “…That’s actually kind of funny.” “So I’ve been told.” Little by little, everyone relaxed around him. At one point you disappeared toward the restroom with a few friends. While you were gone, one of them quietly leaned toward you the moment you returned.
“So…” “What?” “He’s so wants to fuck you.” You nearly choked on your own spit. “He does not.” “He watches your ass every time you leave the table.” “No, he doesn’t.” “You seriously haven’t noticed?” You frowned before glancing across the room. Toji was in the middle of a conversation with two of your friends. Yet the moment he noticed you walking back through the crowd, his eyes instinctively followed your chest until you safely reached the table. Only then did he turn back to finish his sentence.
“It’s not like that” You said to her trying to ignore where his eyes just went.” “What did I tell you?” “He was probably just making sure I didn’t get lost.” “Mhm.” Your friend smiled knowingly. When you finally sat back down, Toji casually slid a new drink closer. “Someone decided to drink three drinks so now you have too.” You laughed and took a sip. “We should get drunk and pass out in the parking lot” you said as he shook his head and sighed before returning to the conversation he was having with your friend.
An older song came on, a club classic. It filled all your ears. You all laughed and started to sing it. Your friend standing and starting to dance awfully. You sang as Toji started to laugh. Your friend came over and grabbed your hand. You danced with her now, she went to your other friend and so you grabbed Toji’s hand. He stood and smiled at you. You kept singing while bringing him to the dance floor and he started to actually dance with you. The alcohol getting into his system finally. He even sang some lyrics making you laugh. His hands were on your waist, your hands were around his neck. Eventually, the dancing became more sexual without either of you really realizing.
You turned around and his hands pushed you close to him, his hand covering your stomach as his other hand trailed around your body. You both danced nicely together, your arm stretched you reached for the back of his neck. His cheek rested against the side of your face. His groin grinding into you like it belonged to you. You both sang the song as it blared from the speakers. His hands touching all over your body like he needed to learn it. You let go of his neck and your hands traced his forearms. Turning around and putting both your hands on his abdomen.
He smiled at you big and you returned it, your hands feeling his abs through his shirt as your fingertips moved to his large chest. His hands found your ass, you lips parted as his hands squeezed your backside. He nodded as in “We’re going all in since you brought me here” you laughed and raised your eyebrows. You nodded back as “Two can play at this game”. Your hands came down to his belt and you pulled him closer. Dancing downward, looking up at him the whole time. You came level with his belt and you made a moan face, crossing your eyes making him laugh hard. “You’re so dramatic” he finally spoke, you stood back up and laughed as he grabbed your hands and brought you closer. Both of you dancing into each-other now.
“Thank you for dragging me here” he said while his hands moved around your waist. You stood on your tippy toes and kissed his cheek. He froze for just a second before continuing to dance. “Thank you for coming” you said as the song came to an end.

The days after the night out felt… different. Nothing had changed. Not officially. Breakfast still happened every morning. Dinner was still eaten together whenever Toji wasn’t working late. Movie nights continued on Fridays, and soccer games still took over the backyard whenever Megumi finished his homework. Everything was exactly the same. And somehow… nothing felt the same. You caught yourself looking up whenever you heard his footsteps in the hallway. Toji found himself lingering in the kitchen longer than necessary if you were making coffee. Conversations that had once been effortless now carried small moments of silence. Not uncomfortable ones. Just… noticeable. Tense. Sometimes your hands brushed while reaching for the same plate. Both of you immediately apologized. Sometimes you’d look up at the exact same moment. One of you always looked away first. Neither of you understood what had changed. Or maybe… you both understood it too well. Neither of you knew what to do with it.
One evening, Toji sat in his office attempting to read through a contract. Attempting being the important word. He’d read the same paragraph six times. A quiet knock came at the open door. Megumi stepped inside. “You’ve been on that page for ten minutes.” Toji looked down. “Have I?” “Mhm.” “I was thinking.” “About Y/n?” Toji slowly looked up. “…Excuse me?” Megumi leaned against the doorway with a grin that looked far too mischievous for a thirteen year old. “You keep smiling when she walks into a room.” “I do not.” “You do.” “I don’t.” “You literally forgot your coffee this morning because you were watching her make pancakes.” “I…” Toji paused. “…That’s unrelated.” Megumi nodded dramatically. “Very convincing.” Toji couldn’t help letting out a quiet laugh. “You’ve become awfully confident.” “You told me confidence was good.” “I seem to be creating my own problems.” “You definitely are.” Megumi smiled. “I like seeing you happy.” Toji’s expression softened. “I am happy.” “I know.” Megumi shrugged. “I just think someone else makes you happier.” Before Toji could respond, the boy disappeared down the hallway. “Goodnight, dad.” “Goodnight.” Toji looked back down at the contract. He never finished reading it.
Three days later, you were folding laundry in your room when your phone rang. You smiled the moment you saw your friend’s name. “Hello?” “There she is!” You laughed. “Hi.” “So…” “So?” “I’ve been waiting patiently.” “For what?” “For updates.” You smiled knowingly. “There aren’t any.” “Oh, please.” “There really aren’t.” “You expect me to believe that after the club?” You frowned. “What happened at the club?” “You and the giant.” You nearly laughed. “Toji?” you said with a more quiet voice. “Yes, Toji.” “What about him?” There was a dramatic pause. Then your friend said. “Have you two had sex yet?” You nearly dropped the towel you were folding. “What?!” you turned down your phone quickly. “I’m just asking!” “No!” “Oh…” She sounded genuinely surprised. “No?” “No!” “Really?” “Really!” “I would’ve sworn you already had.” You buried your face in your free hand. “Where on earth did you get that idea?” “Because you were all over each other on the dance floor.” “We danced.” “You grinded into eachother.” “For one song.” “He never stopped looking at you.” You sighed. “We’re friends.” “Mhm.” “He’s figuring out life after his divorce.” “Mhm.” “And I’m trying to help him.” “Mhm.” “You don’t believe me.” “Not even a little.” You laughed despite yourself. “I have to go.” “You’ll call me the second he touches you.” “Goodbye.” “You didn’t say no.” The line disconnected before she could tease you any further. You shook your head, smiling to yourself as you set your phone back on the nightstand.
The following morning, you walked into the kitchen to find Megumi already eating breakfast. He looked unusually thoughtful. “Morning.” “Morning.” You poured yourself a cup of coffee before noticing he kept glancing at you. “What?” He hesitated. “…Can I ask you something?” “Of course.” “I accidentally heard part of your phone call yesterday.” Your eyebrows lifted. “You did?” “I wasn’t trying to.” He looked down at his cereal. “I was walking past your room.” Your face warmed immediately. “…How much did you hear?” He stirred his cereal quietly. “…Enough.” You closed your eyes for a brief moment. “Oh no.” “I’m sorry.” “No…” You laughed nervously. “I’m the one who’s sorry you had to hear that.” He shrugged. “It wasn’t really that.” You sat beside him. “Then what is it?” Megumi looked at you with the same honesty he’d always had.
“I heard your friend ask if you and dad were going to be together.” You waited. He smiled. “…I’m okay with that.” Your breath caught. “You are?” He nodded. Your heart fluttered. “I’ve thought about it for a while.” “I think…” He looked down at his bowl before meeting your eyes again. “I think we already are a family.” His words were so simple. So matter-of-fact. “You already take care of me.” “You make dad smile.” “He smiles a lot more now.” A tiny grin spread across his face. “And I don’t think he’d forget his coffee anymore.” You laughed through the emotion building in your chest. “You’ve noticed that too?” “I notice everything.” You reached over and gently ruffled his hair. “I think your father and I have a lot to figure out.” “I know.” He smiled.
“I’m not in a hurry.” Then, after another bite of cereal, he added with perfect timing, “But dad definitely is.” You blinked. “What makes you say that?” Megumi looked toward the doorway just as Toji walked into the kitchen. His father froze for half a second when he saw you already sitting there. “…Morning.” “Morning,” you both answered. Megumi hid a smile in his cereal. He was beginning to suspect that the two adults he loved most were far more nervous than either of them realized. You wondered what Megumi mean’t for the rest of the day. Wanting to ask him like a child eager for drama.

Megumi came bursting through the front door after school with his backpack half-open and several papers sticking out of the top. “Mom!” he called before he’d even taken his shoes off. You looked up from where you were helping Mrs. Tanaka arrange fresh flowers in the dining room. “In here!” He hurried in, already digging through his bag until he pulled out a neatly stapled packet. “I have a science project.”
You accepted the paper with a smile. “Let’s see.” Across the top, in bold letters, it read: Animal Observation Report. Students were instructed to choose an animal, observe it in person if possible, take notes on its behavior, habitat, and diet, then write a report explaining what they’d learned. You looked back at him. “Well… this sounds fun.” “Can we go to the zoo?” His eyes were already hopeful before he’d even finished asking. “I don’t see why not.” Just then Toji walked into the room, loosening his tie after another long day at work. He looked tired. His eyes found yours and he looked away with almost irritation. “What’s this?” Megumi immediately held the assignment toward him. “We have to go to the zoo.” Toji skimmed the page. “I’ll have the driver take you Saturday.” “No.” Toji blinked. “No?” “You’re coming.” “Megumi, I have work.” Toji said irritated.
“You always have work.” Megumi said as his voice got quieter. The room grew quiet. Toji looked at his son for a long moment before exhaling through his nose. You gently folded the assignment closed. “That’s alright” You said while handing the paper back to Megumi. Toji looked at you. “Me and you can go and do this together okay?” “I’ll come” Toji said almost cutting you off. Megumi’s head snapped to him, “Really?” “Yes i’ll come I might have to answer some calls but I will.” he said with a stern voice. You walked over to Toji and helped him take off his tie. “Do you want something to drink? I put your whiskey in the freezer” you said as he exhaled and smiled tiredly. “That’d be nice”
Saturday morning arrived warm and bright. The sky was almost completely clear as the three of you pulled into the zoo parking lot just after opening. Families filled the entrance, children running excitedly toward the gates with maps clutched in their hands. Megumi tried to play it cool but he was practically bouncing beside you while Toji stared at the colorful sign overhead. “I haven’t been to a zoo since I was a kid.” You looked over at him. “Then I guess you’re overdue.” He glanced toward the excited crowds before quietly admitting, “I forgot places like this were fun.” You walked beside Toji. “You’re so grumpy” you said making Megumi laugh.
The moment the gates opened, Megumi took off toward the map. He unfolded it across a nearby bench with all the seriousness of someone planning a military operation. “We need a route.” You laughed. “A route?” “If we don’t have one, we’ll miss animals.” Toji folded his arms, pretending to study the map with equal seriousness. “He’s got a point.” You looked between the two of them. “…I’m outnumbered.”
The first stop was the elephants. Megumi stood quietly taking notes while one of them lazily tossed hay across its enclosure. Every few minutes he looked down at his worksheet before scribbling another sentence. “What are you writing?” you asked. “That elephants use their trunks for almost everything.” “That’s true.” “Also…” He looked up thoughtfully. “…they’re really wrinkly.” You laughed. “I don’t think your teacher will mind that observation.”
You all wandered from elephants to zebras, then lions, then gorillas. Every exhibit became another lesson. Megumi insisted on reading every information plaque from beginning to end, occasionally stopping to announce random facts he’d just learned. “Did you know red pandas aren’t actually bears?” “I do now,” Toji replied. “Did you know flamingos are born gray?” “Really?” you asked. “Mhm.” He proudly pointed at the sign. “It says so.” Toji looked down at him with a faint smile. “You’re taking this assignment very seriously.” “You said if you’re going to do something, do it right.” Toji chuckled quietly. “…I suppose I did.”
As the morning went on, something about the day felt… easy. There were no business meetings. No lawyers. No difficult conversations. Just the three of you walking side by side beneath shaded pathways while children laughed somewhere in the distance. Every now and then Toji would quietly fall a few steps behind. You assumed he was checking emails or answering messages. You didn’t notice him pulling his phone out only long enough to snap candid pictures instead. One of Megumi laughing at the sea lions. Another of you smiling while reading one of the exhibit signs. Neither of you realized your pictures had quietly filled his camera roll by lunchtime.
Around noon, the three of you stopped to eat near the giraffe enclosure. Megumi enthusiastically told the two of you everything he’d learned so far between bites of his sandwich while you listened with genuine interest. “I think I’m choosing wolves.” “Really?” you asked. “Not penguins?” He shook his head. “I like wolves better.” Toji smiled into his drink. “I had a feeling.” You pulled out your phone and fixed your hair, “Okay let’s take a picture so I can have it” you said while doing a stupid face with Megumi. “Come here old man” Megumi then grabbed Toji and you all smiled. “Wait let me get one with dad” Megumi asked. You flipped the camera and took a picture of him and Megumi. Toji trying not to laugh as his son did a stupid pose. Toji threw a thumbs up and stuck his tongue out.
“Wow you guys could be models” you said with a laugh. A younger woman came up and asked to take pictures of all of you together. You let her and you walked over, Toji’s hand coming around your waist. Megumi was in the middle of you too, you all smiled happily. “Okay a funny one!” the girl said. You and Megumi automatically doing some stupid gestures, Toji laughed and just watched you too as she clicked the pictures. “You guys are a gorgeous family” she said while handing you your phone back. “I’m the most gorgeous one though” Megumi said before either you and Toji could really explain to her. You all laughed.
After lunch, Megumi insisted on buying the giraffe feeding experience. The attendant handed each of you a bundle of leafy branches before directing everyone toward the wooden platform overlooking the enclosure. You eagerly stepped forward only to realize the giraffe’s head was just a little farther away than you’d expected. You stretched onto your tiptoes, reaching your arm out as far as it would go. “I almost…” You reached again. “…have it…” Before you could lose your balance, you felt a warm hand gently steady your elbow. Toji hadn’t said a word. He simply stood beside you, keeping you balanced as the giraffe leaned down and happily accepted the leaves from your hand. You laughed as its long tongue wrapped around the branch. “That felt weird.” “It looked weird too,” Toji replied. Only after the giraffe wandered away did he realize his hand was still resting lightly against your arm. He quietly let go, pretending nothing had happened. You did the same.
The afternoon led them toward the penguin exhibit. The moment Megumi spotted the rocky habitat ahead, he gasped. “Penguins!” Before either of you could answer, he was already jogging toward the glass. “Megumi!” you called after him. “Don’t go too far!” “I won’t!” His voice echoed back a second later. Just then, Toji’s phone buzzed in his pocket. He glanced at the screen. Work. His relaxed expression disappeared almost instantly, replaced by the calm, composed look you knew so well. “I have to take this.” You nodded. He stepped only a few feet away, never taking his eyes completely off Megumi as he answered. “Fushiguro speaking.” His tone shifted effortlessly into business. Numbers. Contracts. Schedules. Meetings. The conversation quickly became something you only half listened to. You wandered over beside him anyway, watching Megumi excitedly point at one penguin that kept diving into the water before popping back onto the rocks. You smiled to yourself.
A soft breeze drifted through the walkway. Without warning, a loose strand of your hair blew across your face.
You barely had time to brush it away. Without looking away from the conversation… Without interrupting the person on the other end of the phone… Toji absentmindedly reached toward you. His fingertips gently brushed your temple.
With one smooth, effortless motion, he tucked the strand neatly behind your ear. “I’m telling you this isn’t happening with this company. I have enough closed deals with them to know they aren’t worth it” His thumb barely grazed your cheek before his hand lingered there for the briefest moment. The gesture was so natural… So instinctive…
That neither of you reacted. He continued speaking into the phone. “…No, move the Thursday meeting to next week instead…” Then… His mind finally caught up with what his hand had just done.
His words stopped. Silence. “…Mr. Fushiguro?” the voice on the other end asked. Toji blinked. “…I’m sorry.” Another pause. “…Could you repeat that?” You slowly looked up at him. He slowly looked down at you. His hand quietly fell back to his side. For the first time since you’d known him…
Toji Fushiguro looked completely flustered.
He finished the rest of the conversation on autopilot, answering questions that normally would’ve taken him seconds to solve. Today, however, every answer came a beat too late. His thoughts had disappeared somewhere between a loose strand of hair and the warmth of your skin beneath his fingertips.
When the call finally ended, neither of you spoke. The sounds of laughing children and splashing water filled the silence around you. You looked at him. “…Everything okay?”
He stared at the phone still in his hand before letting out one quiet, almost embarrassed laugh. “…Not particularly.”
You couldn’t help smiling. Neither could he. Before either of you found the courage to say anything else, Megumi came running back toward you holding his notebook. “You have to come see this one!” he said excitedly. “There’s a penguin that keeps stealing rocks from the others!” You and Toji answered at exactly the same time.
“We’re coming.” Megumi stopped. Looked at you. Then at his father. A tiny smile slowly spread across his face. He didn’t say a word. He simply turned around and continued toward the exhibit, secretly deciding that maybe his science project wasn’t the only interesting thing he’d observed that day. The drive home was much quieter than the drive there. Megumi had fallen asleep before they were even halfway back to the mansion, his notebook resting open in his lap with several pages of observations scribbled neatly inside. You gently closed it so it wouldn’t slide onto the floor. For several peaceful minutes, the only sound inside the car was the hum of the engine.
“…I’m sorry,” Toji said quietly. You turned toward him. “For what?” He kept his eyes on the road. “…Earlier.” “The phone call?” He smiled to himself. “…No.” You felt your face warm.“Oh.” Another silence settled between you. This one wasn’t awkward. It simply held something neither of you were quite ready to name. As the gates of the mansion came into view, you looked back at the sleeping boy in the rearview mirror before smiling softly. “I think he’s going to get an A.” Toji glanced back at his son. “…I think so too.”

Chapter 12 - Tell me to stop.
The mansion had settled into its usual evening quiet. Dinner had long since ended, Mrs. Tanaka had retired for the night, and Megumi was upstairs finishing the last few questions on his math homework before bed. You wandered through the hallway carrying two mugs of tea, stopping outside Toji’s bedroom. His door was slightly open, a lamp glowing softly from inside. You knocked gently against the doorframe. “Come in.” Toji sat at the small sitting area near the window with several papers spread across the coffee table. He looked up as you entered before immediately reaching over to move the paperwork aside.
“I thought you could use a break,” you said, handing him one of the mugs. “I could.” He accepted it with a grateful nod. “What are you working on?” “Trying to convince myself these reports are interesting.” “Were you successful?” “Not even a little.” You laughed quietly before sitting across from him. For a few minutes neither of you said much. The silence had become familiar between the two of you. Comfortable. You glanced toward the stack of papers sitting beside him. “I actually came to ask you something.” “Hm?” “I found a permission slip in Megumi’s backpack.” Toji looked up. “The school dance?” You nodded.
“I forgot they do one every year.” “He mentioned it to me this morning.” “What do you think?” Toji leaned back in his chair. “I think he’ll pretend he doesn’t want to go.” You smiled. “And then secretly hope we tell him he should.” “Exactly.” You laughed. “Should one of us go?” “I don’t think so.” “Maybe we could both go.” Toji immediately shook his head. “I don’t think he’d want his mom or his dad to come with him.” You opened your mouth to protest before laughing. “What?” “I can be cool.” “I’ve never doubted that.” The two of you laughed together before the room gradually fell quiet again.
It took only a second. Then… The conversation caught up with both of you. Your smile slowly faded. “…Wait.” Toji looked at you. He realized it at the exact same moment. He had called you Megumi’s mother. Without thinking. Without hesitating. The words had simply come naturally. His expression softened. “…I’m sorry.” You blinked. “For what?” “I shouldn’t have…” He rubbed the back of his neck. “I didn’t mean to...” You looked down at the tea warming your hands. Another silence settled between you. This one felt heavier. Not uncomfortable. Just… Honest. You finally looked back up at him.
“…Can I ask you something?” “Anything.” “How do you really feel about all of this?” He held your gaze. For a long moment, he searched for the right words. “I don’t think there’s a simple answer.” You nodded. “I figured.” He looked down at his mug. “There are days…” he admitted quietly, “…where I still wonder how Yumeko is.” You listened without interrupting. “I wonder where she is. If she’s eating. If she’s happy. If she’s lonely.” He let out a slow breath. “She was my wife for a long time. I can’t pretend that part of my life never happened.” You nodded gently. “I wouldn’t expect you to.” “And she’s still Megumi’s mother.” His voice grew quieter. “Nothing will ever change that.” “No. It won’t.” You offered him a small smile. “I understand.” “You do?” “I loved her too.” He looked up. “She was my sister. I miss the person I thought she was.”
The words hung between you. Neither of you had ever said them out loud before. “I still hope she’s okay.” “So do I.” Neither of you spoke for several moments. The room felt peaceful. Not because everything had been fixed… But because neither of you felt alone carrying it anymore. Toji looked at you. “…I don’t think I would’ve made it through this without you.” Your eyes softened. “You would’ve.” “I don’t.” His voice cracked ever so slightly. “I really don’t.” He stood from his chair and crossed the short distance between you. For a second, he hesitated. Almost asking permission without speaking. You answered by standing too. The hug was gentle. Careful. As though both of you were afraid the moment might disappear if either one moved too quickly. The instant his arms wrapped around you… Something inside him gave way. He let out a slow, shaky breath. His forehead rested lightly against the side of your head. He wasn’t crying. Not quite. But years of exhaustion seemed to leave him all at once. You felt his shoulders finally relax.
Without thinking, you wrapped your arms around him a little tighter. “It’s okay,” you whispered. He closed his eyes. “I’ve spent so long trying to be strong.” “I know.” “I wanted Megumi to have someone he could depend on.” “He does.” “You gave him that.” Your throat tightened. “No. You did. I just helped.” He slowly shook his head. “You gave both of us a home.” His voice was barely above a whisper. “You stayed. You chose us.” A tear finally slipped down his cheek. “So many people would’ve walked away. You didn’t.” You gently rubbed slow circles against his back. “I wasn’t going anywhere.” He let out another uneven breath before quietly laughing through it. “I know. And somehow…” His smile was tired but genuine. “…that’s what makes me emotional.” The two of you remained there for another minute, simply holding one another. Not because either of you needed rescuing. But because sometimes… Being held was enough. Eventually, you guided him toward the edge of the bed. The two of you sat down beside one another without letting go completely. Your shoulders touched. His arm remained loosely around you. You rested your head lightly against him. Neither of you spoke. Words no longer felt necessary. Outside, the mansion was silent. Down the hallway, Megumi slept peacefully, unaware that the two people he loved most had quietly found comfort in each other. For the first time in a long time… Neither of them felt like they had to carry the weight of everything alone.
“You’re a good man” you finally said. Taking his hand in yours. “I like to think Megumi will grow up to be like you.” you added. A tear left Toji’s eye, falling down his face. You wiped it for him. “He is a lot like you” he said while smiling. You laughed quietly. “Well that’s not good” Toji shoved your shoulder with his, you both laughed. You hugged Toji again. His hands coming around you to guide you into his lap. You hesitated before allowing yourself to settle into him. He held you and you closed your eyes. “This whole situation is tiring.” You said as he layed down. You rested your head on his upper chest. “I thought by now it’d be easier” he sighed while his fingers ran through your hair.
“Me too” you replied. “Megumi seems to be fine at least… as long as you’re around he is alright” he said making you sit up and look at him. “He depends on you more than you think” Toji looked away like you were lying. “Hey” you said while touching his cheek for him to look at you. “You’re a good dad. And you’ve been there for him through all of this. You stepped up and he knows that. I’m proud of the relationship you and him have now. It wasn’t easy.” Toji’s lips parted but he didn’t reply. He just looked at you with thoughtful eyes. His hand finding the side of your face. You pushed into his embrace as he rubbed his thumb on your cheek. Your own hand came and held his wrist.
“This feeling between us is becoming more real everyday” he said quietly. You exhaled and nodded. “I think we just need time before we can really figure this out” he added while you nodded again. Your other hand planted on his chest. Silence filled the room. Both of you just reading each-others expressions. His hand left your cheek. Moving down to the side of your neck he moved your hair back. You both stared at eachother, not knowing what to say after finally admitting your feelings for eachother.
Your eyes looked down once you felt his hand come to your shirt. He unbuttoned it slowly, almost asking permission. Your shirt slowly came undone, your black lace strapless bra showing underneath. He didn’t look down, he kept eye contact with you. He pushed your shirt over now, you let his finger tips trace between your breasts. You were completely calm, almost euphoric. His eyes finally looked down, both of his hands coming behind your back under your shirt. He clicked your bra’s latch and let it fall. His hand holding it, he sat it next to both of you on the bed. The cold air hitting your nipples making them hard. You watched him set your bra down. Before he looked at your bare chest, his eyes met yours. “We need time” he said dangerously. The rasp in his voice making your heart race.
You nodded as his eyes finally darted to your chest. The room was completely silent, the sound of his clothes moving were the only thing you heard. He leaned forward and his mouth met your sternum. He kissed your skin, his hands coming behind your back again underneath the shirt you still wore. You closed your eyes as he kissed down and slowly to the right, his lips were soft and plump. He kissed your hard nipple, his breath hitting your skin. Making you reach for the back of his head gently. His tongue licked your nipple slowly, your eyes fluttered and your hand combed upward through the back of his hair. He then took your nipple in my mouth, he sucked gently. His other hand finding your left breast. His two fingers gently pinched your nipple.
“This is too soon” he said low, almost a whisper. You didn’t answer, he continued to kiss your chest and his mouth moved to your other breast. Your breathing started to pick up, feeling the puddle you were sitting in now. He finally came up to your face, his lips inches away from your own. He leaned his forehead onto yours, his eyes shutting. “Tell me to stop” he said breathlessly. You didn’t respond, his lips slowly found yours. The silence in the room was filled with soft sounds of kissing, the wetness from each-others mouths made music to your ears. His kisses were passionate, full of desire and love for you.
His hands held you in place as he stood. You wrapped your legs around him as the kiss never broke. He walked a few steps then set you on his dresser gently. His tongue swirling with yours like lovers on their wedding day. You unbuttoned his shirt as his hands gripped onto the sides of your neck. He then took off his shirt once you pushed it back, it falling to the floor. His hands came to your pants and he unbuttoned them. Pulling the zipper down to see black lace panties. He let out a breath and you watched him look at you in awe. His hands pulling down your pants, you both watched them fall to the ground. He stepped on top of them and pulled you in to kiss you.
“We need to take time before we rush into things” he said while his hands were betraying his words. He slid off your panties. He kissed you and his teeth bit down on your bottom lip. “Tell me to stop doll” he whispered into your mouth. You kissed him in return, his hands moved your legs so you were wide open for his view. He kissed your neck and then his hand took yours, he kissed your hand as he lowered himself in between your legs. His kisses gravitating to your thighs now. He kissed your inner thighs as your wet orchid pulsated with desire and arousal for him. You watched him in between your legs, the sound of his own belt being undone was what you heard next.
“Please it’s not too late baby” he said inches away from your womanhood. “I can’t control myself with you sweet girl” he said before licking your vulva. You let out a very quiet moan. The taste of you sending him waves of energy. “Tell me to stop babygirl” he practically begged you now. Your hand pushed his head shamefully. He licked and sucked on your clit, his tongue moving down and pushing into your entrance. You moaned louder this time, still quiet enough to not disrupt the charged silence that filled the room. The sound of his fingernails dragging across the dresser made your eyes look to your side. He was scratching at the dresser, his hands shaking.
“Don’t do this to me..” he said while catching his breath. “I don’t want to hurt you my love” he whispered to you as you watched him struggle to contain himself. “You won’t-“ “You don’t know that” he said, answering over your own voice. You understood what he mean’t now by the color of his eyes, dark. He was hungry, desperate. You held his face with your hand, “You deserve this.” you said as he melted into your touch. His eyes shutting for a month before his mouth finds you again, your hand pulled on his hair as he devoured you. “I need you” he said in between kissing around your orchid. You watched him grip the desk with white knuckles. He pushed against the desk with frustration. His eyes came to find yours. His whole expression calm, almost scary. His eyes so dark with desire. “Let me make love to you” he asked with a shaky voice.
“Please, let me do this, let me touch you and learn your body. I want to make you feel good sweet girl, I want to feel you around me.” You nodded as he then grabbed you and picked you up quickly. You didn’t weigh anything to him, he knew this would be an issue for his own self control. He layed you down on the bed and took off your shirt for you. He then took off his own pants, your eyes widened once you saw his erection. “I don’t want to hurt you” ran through your head, he didn’t mean mentally, he mean’t physically. His cock was large and girthy, red and needing to be inside of you. He crawled onto the bed and pulled you by your feet to him, he kissed your foot and all the way to your own lips. He kissed you harder now, pushing his mouth into your lips. “Do you want this princess?” he asked you while sitting up, positioning himself between your legs. His cock layed on your stomach by him pushing it down. It covered your belly button, he watched your eyes as you saw this.
“Yes” you said with a shaky voice. “Breathe baby” he said while positioning himself with your entrance. “Don’t stop breathing okay, tell me to stop if you need me too” He said before his tip pushed into you, you moaned and he exhaled. Your hands gripped the sheets and your toes curled, his length disappearing inside of you, your hand grabbed his thigh and your fingernails dug into his skin. You took all of him, he kissed your neck and your face as your walls stretched and tore. “Tell me when it stops hurting my love, tell me when I can fuck you and watch you take me” he said into your ear. You moaned louder when his thumb started to rub your clit. “Let me do this” he said as your hands found his back. Scratching him while your back arched.
“Help me stretch you baby, cum on me so I can feel you better” he said while his thumb sped up on your bead. “Look at me doll” he said while sitting up now, you looked at his face and then his body, his one hand on your leg and the other in between your legs. His cock inside of you completely. “Look at me” he repeated when your eyes fluttered shut. You opened them back up and held eye contact with him. He wore a small smile as his other hand came and pressed down on your stomach. You moaned loud, your climax slowly starting. He could tell when your walls fluttered around him. He slid his cock out of you, you moaned louder and gripped onto the sheets again. He slid back into you as his hand still pressed down on you. Your whole body jolted once you started to cum, “Good job baby” he said as you looked at him with pleasure. He leaned down and kissed you. He slid in and out of you slowly, his length tearing your walls no matter how long he waited.
He removed his hand and grabbed your legs, putting them on his shoulders. He started to fuck you, his moans filling the air mixed with your own now. The wet noise of your cum oozing out making him groan. “Come on baby take it” he said as you felt his hands come behind your waist now. He lifted you up and fucked you in the air now. Slamming your weight into his own like you were nothing. Your head fully back till you found the strength to look at him. He slid off the bed and stood with you, still fucking you. You placed your hands on his biceps as he walked to his large mirror he had. “Look at that” he said while slowly going in and out of you, his length looking almost imaginary before it would push back into you. His biceps strained and veiny, his hair starting to stick to his forehead. You looked away and he held you with one hand now, pushing your face to the mirror. “Look baby don’t look away” he commanded as he continued to fuck you with ease, his stamina never diminishing.
“Mm fuck you feel so good, you’re so fucking perfect” he groaned, looking at you in the mirror. You made eye contact with him through your watery eyes. He threw you in the air and held you at a different angle, his cock springing out. He walked back to his bed, “Turn around for me princess” he said, you turned around and he pushed your head down, your cheek hitting the bed. His knee bending the back of your own knee he placed you on the bed. You arched for him as he slid back into your gaping hole he created. His hands took your hair and pulled it hard. You moaned from pain and arousal. His other hand held your waist and pushed you down onto him as he rocked his hips into you. The loud noise of your skin hitting eachother filled the room.
“Look at that ass on you baby” he said while grabbing it. “A man only can dream for this” he groaned. “You’re mine, my own dream, my own fantasy” he rambled on but you barely heard him, the sound of your own moans being too loud to focus. He pulled out and quickly layed down, bringing you on top of him. You found the strength to ride him, his hands came and did all the work once your legs gave out. His eyes analyzed your whole body, you leaned down and kissed him. His hands stopping and just holding you. You both moaned into the kiss. “You’re taking me so well my sweet girl” he said as you rocked your hips back and forth. “That feel good?” he asked as you moaned and nodded. His hand came down and rubbed your clit. Your body tensing up, “lay down baby” he said, you layed on his chest, he continued to rub your clit as your walls tightened around him. You kissed him sloppily, after a couple seconds he pushed you over and got on top of you. Your mouth opened as he spit into it.
You swallowed it and he smirked, “Such a good girl” he said before pushing your legs onto the bed, he shoved his length into you, fucking you even faster than he was. “Can I cum in you baby? I want to fill you up and watch it drip out” he asked while looking into your eyes, you nodded while looking down at your stomach moving from his length inside of you. “Please” you spoke out, his eyes opened and he looked at you with hopeful eyes. Wanting to full-fill this request he sped up. His moans becoming whispers once he got close to cumming.
He let go of your legs and kissed you passionately. Hot liquid shooting into you. You moaned into his mouth, he cried soft whimpers as he slowed his pace. “You feel so good” he cried while kissing you again. “I need you..I need this to never end” he admitted shamefully while looking into your eyes. You nodded and he kissed you. “You have me” you finally said, your hand coming around the back of his neck as he pulled out. You kissed him now, he layed on top of you, making sure to not put any weight on you. “Thank you… for everything” he said as you both breathed heavily. “You’re the woman I need in my life” he said before kissing you. The kisses became innocent, his lips leaving and placing small pecks on yours now. You smiled. He stood up and went to his bathroom to grab you a towel. You stood and caught your breath. He came back and cleaned you up. Kissing your thighs and your body with sweet whispers. You sat up and he helped you stand. Putting back on your underwear, he handed you one of his own shirts.
He wore just his boxers as you layed on top of him, your hand on his chest. “Do you think Megumi woke up?” you asked making him laugh “Let’s hope not, or he will never leave us alone with questions” he said while pulling you closer.
