important qualities to look for in someone you want to be in a relationship with —
how do they respond when you point out something that interests you? it could be the sky, an animal, a song you like... literally anything. do they acknowledge you and engage or are they dismissive? very telling as to how that person will be throughout your relationship.
how they treat others, strangers or not. being a respectful person in general says a lot about their character. also, how they feel about animals/nature/children is huge.
you should be able to talk to them about anything. deep conversations and trivial ones. this person should be your go to and best friend.
pay attention to how they make you feel when you're with them. do you like who you become when you're around this person? do they make you feel light, happy, and energized or do they feel like a black cloud weighing you down?
do they remain respectful towards you even when they are upset/angry or in a bad mood?
trust. if you feel you can't trust them in the slightest bit or they have a history of lying and being manipulative, they’re not the one.
are they willing to work on themselves (if need be) in order to better their relationship with you? someone who can't acknowledge where they go wrong and isn't willing to fix it does not care about you.
can they love you in the ways you need to/would like to be loved? love languages are very important in relationships.
