In a world dystopian, lost in the dust.

Liminal spaces where time stands still,

Just you and me—no one else at will.

A long take rolls, no cuts in sight,

Serendipity in endless night.

I’m happy here, in this frozen frame,

Eyes interlocked, always the same.

But oh, dear Lord, how did it end?

Why did fate break, what we couldn’t mend?

Now you’re a still frame I can’t shake,

As you lie still, a lifeless pause I can’t take.

Eyes all around, they warp and bend,

As the long take plays, there is no way to amend.

An "I hate you" style, similar to the one in 10 Things I Hate About You

I hate how all I have are still frames of us,

In a world dystopian, filled with dust.

I hate the way you made time freeze,

How you left me alone in liminal seas.

I hate the way you stand in the long take,

Like you knew it would end with a heart to break.

I hate how your eyes locked with mine,

Only to turn cold, leaving me behind.

I hate how you promised forever, then lied,

Now you're a still frame I can't push aside.

I hate the way you became just a pause,

A lifeless picture, lost without cause.

I hate how I stand, and you're not there,

How your absence warps the very air.

But most of all, I hate that it's true—

I don't hate anything as much as I miss you.
