no, not that kind, this isn't that type of blog. though at the rate some of our song posts get flagged for adult content (one time it was a steely dan song, no kidding) i expect the 5th graders running things here will think it's FOR SURE the kind of balls that i'm positive have no less than 4, 721 niche blogs here devoted to fully focusing on.

but onto the kind of balls i am here to talk about - the kind i grew up surrounded by, the sporting kind. my father played college basketball. my brother played football/baseball/basketball and also played college basketball. i started tennis at 5, softball at 7, and shot baskets in our hoop at home (no girls teams back then) until i moved away at 18. my mother coached my softball teams. we all played golf. we had a snooker table in our dining room, and my favorite thing, a ping pong table in the garage. i excelled at this one. i still play, and rather infamously skinned my knee up one mother's day playing by going too hard for a save. i'd like to say this was when i was a kid, but it was 3 years ago.....i don't come to play.....i come to WIN.

i have literally never heard @theoldsmelly talk about sports once. i have no idea if he grew up playing any. i know if he grew up in america, he would have been put on a basketball team immediately bc ya know he's a tall feller. that doesn't equal coordination, however. and he gets hurt a little too much for me to assume coordination lives within him.

sports, especially ones with balls, also requires that one other thing that separates the wheat from the chaff....the killer instinct. for those following this year's nba finals, i wonder if the knicks' brunson has this going for him....here's hoping 🤞 cause i got some money with real nice odds on this one.

so yeah, this week's collection of songs is about balls. some the sporting kind, some the metaphorical kind, some the cannon kind, and yes, some the kind that get you slapped with an adult content label. which when that happens, you know what i always yell?
