"i'd like that. i'm still learning the routines and whatnot."

it might come across as forward but it's exactly the kind of thing that she needs in the moment. some of the cases that have come through the doors have left her feeling a little empty, a little hollow. all too reminded of the loss she'd faced barely two years ago. the wound still felt fresh, like the day it happened. she sniffs, quietly, glancing up carefully. The look on her face says far more than words would but still, she's not going to leave him completely hanging. "I just need to take a break, I think. Get something to eat, drink some water, stretch my legs." She isn't even supposed to be here right now. This is the night shift. She's day shift. But she's far too willing to accept overtime, especially when that overtime comes with pay.

"what? no! don't be silly." but she does. not that she's ever going to admit to that. it's her work place and that's no place to be developing crushes! it makes her sound so juvenile, so childish, to say that she has a crush on someone she works with. she isn't looking to create drama where there isn't any and she certainly doesn't want to put her baggage on another person. that's not fair to them.
