valentines day for nerds pt.2 (pt.1)

It’s because they’ve never been in a real relationship before. Something deep or substantial that lead to moving-in, an engagement, or eventually a child. They don’t know what it’s like to blow through the “honeymoon phase” and build a life. What it’s like to really get to know someone, share a life, home, money, bills, chores, debts, secrets, children, parenting. “Marriage”. It’s fucking hard, dude. Sex doesn’t make a companionship picture perfect, a solid friendship does. If you think an orgasm’s the foundation of all functional relationships, you’re in for a rude awakening. For me, sex is 99% mental, and if I’m not feeling mentally supported… I can’t fake the enthusiasm. Nor should I have to. And that’s that.
