To be honest, I went into this movie completely blind. The first time I ever heard about it was because one of my favorite performances by THE BOYZ, Reveal: Catching Fire, was said to be partially inspired by this movie. Other than that, I knew absolutely nothing about it.

I didn’t even know it was a musical buuuut since I love musicals, I kept watching and thankfully, it did not disappoint at all especially because there are so many familiar faces! Despite running for almost 2.5 hours, this movie managed to engage me by dragging me deeper and deeper into its misery in the best possible way. It’s so insanely cool that I ended up searching for the 1832 June Paris Rebellion (the event that inspired it) afterwards.
