The United States men's national soccer team defeated Australia 2-0 on Friday in Seattle, securing a spot in the round of 32. Forward Christian Pulisic missed the match due to a calf injury. The U.S. took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute on an own goal by Australia. In the 43rd minute, Alex Freeman, the youngest player on the team at 21 years old, doubled the Americans' lead with a goal off a set piece.
