                “I do, thank you for noticing. You’re not so bad yourself.” Alec arched a brow at the poke. “Mm, only if you give me a foot massage.”

                  “And humble, too, my oh my. How am I supposed to resist?” Enzo scoffed before shaking his head. He wasn’t charming as he had been once. “But thank you. If you’re flirting with me it could use some work. Try again.”

                “That’s not my problem,” Alec said with a shrug. “You know what you should do? Give me a foot massage.”

                  “Well, don’t you just ooze charm?” Enzo rolled his eyes and poked Alec’s feet, like hell he was going to do it, at least he told himself as much. “How about you bite me?”

You know, he left me, too. Damon. We were best mates, side by side in Augustine cells for five years, each other’s only friend. We gave each other hope. And then, one day, instead of implementing an escape plan we formulated together, he left me in a burning cage to die. So believe me when I tell you that I know how you feel.

That’s my type of guy—[insp.] 

                “I don’t know. I’m definitely not doing that.”

                   Enzo raised a brow, looking over at him, glad that he didn’t actually have to look up. At least not for now. “You know I’m not sure I believe you.”

Well, there was no “us” in my choice. I chose you. I am here because of you.

“There’s pranking here and there but not too much. As much as it is a really fun environment we all take our jobs seriously. We pride ourselves on that. We all get along. We’re all on location essentially: we’re in Atlanta, we’re all away from home – some are from LA, others from elsewhere. So in that city we’re each other’s number one group of friends. We hang out a lot.”

TJ rolled his eyes fondly at the male. “Yeah I can totally tell you’re so broken up about it.” HIs voice was laced with sarcasm as he spoke, grinning as  he heard the laugh he got from Enzo. “It sounds boring if you don’t have anyone to spend it with.” He hummed, knowing he would make a shit vampire.  “I might be dead before that happens.” The blue eyed vampire rubbed him the wrong way. He continued to grin at Enzo, sliding over one of the bottles when the bartender put them in from of them. “So tomorrow then?” He wasn’t going to be able to walk straight after drinking a whole bottle. 

“That’s a very real possibility.” He had loved Damon and still did, but he didn’t hold up much hope for things to  change, no matter what he had seen in the other vampire all those years ago. He found himself grinning all over again. “A man after my own heart.” 

“I’ll remember that.” TJ understood what it was like to have your choices taken from you and he wouldn’t wish that on anyone. No one deserved to have their choices taken from them. “I am not.” He stuck his tongue out at the male childishly. “So you haven’t bee traveling or anything?” He was confused mostly.  “Really?” He asked, not believing Damon could have been that different. “Oh a man after my own heart.” He grinned as he ordered two bottles of whiskey, pressing a fifty to the bar, probably way more then needed but whatever. 

“One day he’ll take the opportunity to prove it.” At least Enzo could hope. “Well I could never forget this.” He grinned right back at TJ. “Next round is on me.” Though after a bottle of whiskey he was sure that he would be carrying TJ home.
