Padme stood on the edge of a tall ravine that dropped into a lake far below. She stared into the abyss below with no signs of movement but her hair and clothes in the wind. How could she be here and how could Anakin be here and seem only slightly happy? How could she be here and her children not? How can she act like everything is okay anymore? The dark thoughts and feeling in her soul came to the edge as she stared over. It reminded her a bit of the drops on a planet sheâd visited once and the water was as bright and blue as the water on naboo. Though she felt like it, Padme shed not one tear. Her face remained expressionless. She wanted to be back in her galaxy, on her planet and with her children. She only saw each of them once after sheâd given birth but she felt they were still alive. She prayed they were. As she heard someone walk up behind her, she didnât move. She didnât make any notion she knew they were there, she just lifted her head to the sky.
Though Anakin had not been on this strange planet for long, he was gradually growing to realize how different this galaxy was from his own.Padme continued to reiterate over and over that this was a fresh start, but how could it be a fresh start, not after all that he had done. The  torment lived within in his very soul that he could not escape, not even in his dreams. Pushing his foot forward, Anakin began to stroll until his eyes focused on the serene presence he knew so well. It was like a soft ocean breeze in the air. Pressing his lips outward, the former Jedi stood there for a moment in silence as he angled his collar down and stared at the ground below him. He felt her worries, sadness, even fear. âThey are alive.â The soft words finally left his lips, leaving a sad taste in his mouth. He can remember so vividly the day Padme told him she was pregnant, and though Anakin was scared he had never been filled with such warmth in his life, minus marrying Padme. He'd be a father- he'd  have family and no one was going to take that away from him, not again. The memory of Padme dying in childbirth still haunted his soul. He had done everything to protect her from that outcome when in reality he should have been protecting her from himself. He killed her. He is the reason their family is broken. Instead of helping them, once again Anakin had failed  and all that was left was his power. Anakin pushed his foot forward once more as he  approached Padme and just stood next to her silence, extending his hand out as he intertwined their fingers but  no words were spoken.Â
