The Decadent Parvenu

Wells' father travelled far and wide, across not only space but also it seems time. But it was in the midst of the Carpathian Mountains that his horse stumbles, a warped nail come loose from the horse's shoe. An emergency stop was necessary to the nearest village's farrier...

As the farrier removed the shoe, Wells' father. first laid eyes on the farrier's daughter, who had been studying him with equal interest. Glances soon turned to conversation, words shared under the blanket of stars, long after everyone else had gone to bed, and before the first rays of sunlight the pair knew what they must do--as the sun rose and the village stirred to life, the pair took off westward, into the plains. They would elope at the next village, then gallop into their future together.

The couple would ultimately settle in Vienna. Their mother had no formal training, but had a way with machinery and construction and soon took up work repairing sewing machines. Their father, with his knack for languages, soon found himself a translator in the Kaiser's court. The pair lived happily--more so with the birth of their child. All was a dream, until their mother's premature death, her bones remain in a Vienna cemetery.

Strangers to acquaintances: he will not touch you unless absolutely necessary. He doesn't want you to touch him unless absolutely necessary. Ideally, no physical contact will ever be made.

Friends: previous conditions apply.

Close friends: previous conditions apply but he wouldn't mind hand-holding. He'll have to work himself up to it though.

Partners: he will lean on you. He will hug you. Please hold him regularly and occasionally lay on top of him it literally doesn't matter how much you weigh.

I'm trying to find a source for every ingredient that isn't like, directly implied by another thing (such as knowing ravens live here thus there must be raven eggs so raven eggs dont need a source)

so if YOU know about anything that isn't on this list and can provide a source (whether that source be "its in the text of this item" or "this action in this location" or "ssea wiki under "sheep", just please give me a source i can check)

I finally finished up this bag! It took a bit longer than I anticipated, because I got really into working on that front panel, but I learned a lot and I'm very happy with how it came out.

Got a couple of fun shots with the bag here.

And a little handful of Correspondence that I clipped to the zipper - gotta keep the Dawn Machine regulated if it's going to be portable, after all.

Death and I are very old friends - or perhaps more like acquaintances whos paths cross frequently, friends in common but never quite in contact with one another. That, I hope, stays that way.

So it was not as a stranger that I greeted Mimi's passing, but rather with familiarity, and a state of Deja vu. Cancer too is something I've seen in others far too many times.

That is what crosses my mind, but the end is not what I want to remember.

Instead, I'm going to rememeber the very determined creature who'd demand a 5th dinner, and then yell at you for daring to take to long. The one who hated the vet so much, she'd find new creative hiding spaces in the crawl space in the attic - of which she'd show me, of course, in case I needed to hide to. The times she's herded me around the house, the time she led me up into the attic just to make me sit in a sun beam with her. The fantastic jumper, the fantastic mouser.

The prettiest kitty you'd have ever laid eyes on. the sweetest, lickiest beast, who laid in bed with me my whole surgery recovery.

and I was like "Wait let me make my tea first" went back and finished making my tea

came back and she was still waiting for me on the stairs. figured she wanted to head back to my room or something idk

she then not just led me upstairs but ??? all the way up the attic stairs

and stopped in a sun beam

so I guess I'm here now ???
