Sorry about posting about this relatively late lol but twinkle’s second album is out! I’ve been working on it for two years, if you like drum n’ bass go listen if you want :)

Man, this album’s title sure aged well, didn’t it? Because, you know… don’t ask about it, cause it sucks. XD

“Don’t Ask” just oozes mediocrity. The entire album is just a compilation of tracks that could be so much more than what they are. Complete with shitty mixing and unedited auxy synths, plus reverb where it shouldn’t be and no reverb where it would really benefit!

On the bright side, I might remaster some of these tracks one day, because I do still have the project files for most of them, I think.

The real reason why I hate this album so much though isn’t really the tracks themselves. Maybe it partially is, but also a horrible falling out and “character custody battle”, one could call it, was happening right around the time i was working on this album, putting a damper on my motivation, so it was kind of haphazardly thrown together. Not to mention I had just moved back to my previous school after the one I transferred to treated me horribly AND started a new (painful) job around the time it was released. Not a good time to exist overall. And this album was accompanying me throughout.

Luckily things have gotten better. Maybe one day this album will get better, too, if I can rebuild the tracks. I’ll definitely take the Homestuck trash sample out of one of them. XD

This album is still one of my favorites from the 2018-2019 era. The era in which I would frequent the auxy disco (rest in peace, auxy disco, I’ll miss you forever). Someone had said on there that this was “the perfect album” and I was so honored that anyone would say that about any of my music— and that one compliment made me hold this album dear ever since.

It’s aged surprisingly well. The mixing isn’t even bad, and the vibes are there. It’s a great little IDM/ambient album to listen to while drifting off. Repetitive, but not to the point where it’s irritating. Just right, as Goldilocks would say.

I do wish the cover art could be better and that I didn’t use some random aesthetic image I found just inside of axela’s silhouette. But even so, the cover art fits really well.

bittersweet will forever remain one of my favorite collabs I’ve ever done too, just such a beautifully put together song. I hope JAX is doing okay now, wherever they may be.

honestly I really hope one day to make a sequel to this album. Though I haven’t been in the mood as of late to make any similar ambient/IDM songs to the ones on here, I really wanna try and recreate the effect and vibe that these songs have.
