watching some concert footage from the japan show and reminded again of how many of these interactions are clearly 'hey look over here instead!' like the part where hyun leads rui around the stage saying how much they love evols, they're filling time and drawing attention while wumuti and haru handle something, and then after rui is talking about losing her voice and gets upset and wumuti and haru hug her, hyun steps directly in front of them and is like 'hey look at ME gorgeous diva hyun!' to give rui a moment to collect themself.

which doesn't make these moments any less authentic--in fact i'd say that rui and hyun probably realized they have a similar sense of humor at the beginning at least partly because they were the default 'hey let's fill time!' people if wumuti had to handle things, and that's been one of the foundations of their relationship.

it's just interesting to remember that sometimes, one member or another is giving the audience something shiny to look at so they're not caught in an awkward moment or putting too much attention on someone who needs a moment.
