Hello!
I've changed my url to long-after-love. Formerly bosie-bosie. Thank you all for visiting this corner of the internet. I love The Beatles and I have a soft spot for John. Wanna know more? See below!
1. I’m 30. I live in Hanoi, Vietnam.
2. My part-time job is literary translator. I’ve just been commissioned to translate Edith Wharton’s Ethan Frome to Vietnamese. I’ve also translated Oscar Wilde and Edgar Allan Poe.
3. I’m much more of a reader than a music lover. I like music of all kinds, from East to West. But no artist, no band ever meant so much to me as The Beatles. I usually listen to a few good songs and have a short phase when I try to learn more about the people behind the music, but none can keep me interested in more than 6 months.
4. I’m good at reading comprehension and I can handle a decent conversation with English speakers, but I don’t write so well because I never really practice writing in English.
5. I feel like I owe The Beatles a lot because they were the reason why I learned English. Bob Spitz and Hunter Davies are my favorite Beatles biographers. And what is more, I’m never tired of reading about Beatles. And yes, I read fanfic as well.
6. Stupid as it sounds, I occasionally write these letters to John Lennon and burn them. I always have the feeling like I could be his friend.
7. I don’t believe in McLennon. Believe is not the word for me - I know. Whatever happened between John and Paul is love - pure and simple.
8. I saw Paul McCartney in concert in 2013 in Tokyo, Japan. It was a wonderful experience.
9. Thank you all for reading. Bless you, wherever you are.
