Lost Boy Backstories/Headcanons!
Ok these Headcanons are solely for the boys, I promise I will get the others later. (TW FOR RELIGIOUS GUILT)
David
-He was actually second to turn (1909)
-He lived up in the Santa Carla redwoods with his family but not too far from the city. His family were lumbers and had their own business.
-Would cause trouble in town and brought a bit of a bad name to his family. (Evil ass baby)
-Dwayne was the one who turned him after they meet on the wharf and get pretty hammered which leads to Dwayne having him drink out the vile and uh oh he's vampire.
-Unlike the others, he still visits his family and just acts as though he isn't a vampire, they all know but genuinely don't care considering they were already considered outsiders.
-He becomes "leader" after Paul joins but that just means he does most of the killing and trying to initiate people into their group.
-Has a strong dislike to people from the inner city due to how they treat older generations of the town.
Dwayne
-First to be changed. (1889)
-He originally lives in Salinas and is Chicano and Native (Specifically Rumsen Ohlone)
-Works on a cattle ranch for his family and when the Salinas rodeo begins he rides in it every once and a while.
-CRAZYYYYYYY religious guilt even though he's very against what the Catholic church did to his communities. Its a big story that I will dive into later.
-Turned after a trip to Carmel (evil Carmel..) and due to him being the first he's the one who has to do a lot of the struggling (Max didn't help him at ALL.)
-Does a lot of advocacy in the years leading up to the movie and tries his best to keep in touch with his heritage.
-Feels guilt at even the thought of visiting his family and has a couple close calls when it comes to being seen by them (again the whole religious guilt)
Paul
-Turned in 1935
-He lives in Watsonville and is one of the only who are native to California, (Moved from the midwest during the dust bowl) His family now work in the fields.
-He would usually go out to Moss Landing for his love of the ocean since it was the first time he's ever seen it. (Ultimately leading to his turning.)
-As I said, he got turned while on an outing to the Moss Landing slough, David told him about an "incredible spot that outlooks everything) and well you can guess of what happened next.
-Feels very guilty for the fact he had to abandon his family, he had two younger siblings who he felt he had a lot of responsibility over and he tries to sneak to go see them but he always gets caught by one of the boys.
-He moved from a rural town in Texas and his accent still comes out.
Marko
-Turned last (1958)
-Lived in Monterey and is Sicilian-American
-His family worked in the sardine canning business before its ultimate collapse which lead to him leaving to find work, (what ends up getting him turned.) he finds Max who lies and bam.
-Only one of the boys who's hair color isn't his natural hair, he dies it blonde during the 80s to help him get more victims but its naturally black.
-Also has crazy religious guilt and it affects him greatly especially with him coming from a Catholic Italian family. He flies out to Monterey to attend services but usually has to come up with reasons on why he can't receive blessing. It doesn't stop him from eating the occasional communion cracker or drinking the occasional sip of blessed wine or getting some holy water on him. (The cracker and wine give him horrible stomach aches but he believes he deserves it for being impure.)
-He's the one who usually reels in victims with his pretty boy looks and has a whole closet full of clothes spanning from 1959-1987
