Do you remember when City of Bones was announced? Do you remember watching the first trailers? Do you remember seeing the movie and being utterly disappointed (maybe for some you weren’t)? Do you remember when City of Ashes production was stopped? Do you remember getting the news of Shadowhunters? That we were getting a second chance?
Because I do. I remember watching the casting happen, the news of the characters, the behind the scenes videos and photos come onto social media of the cast interacting and bonding. I remember seeing the videos on set, putting pieces together. I remember learning the changes they would make in the show, and the fact that they even told us that means so much to me. We were prepared, we knew what was going to come. Those eight and a half months meant so much to me. One thing I didn’t expect was to fall in love in this show within the first five minutes of the pilot. I don’t know about you but every Tuesday I woke up excited to watch the new episode to see some of my favorite characters of all time on my screen. I made an incredibly close friend over this show, on the day the first trailer came out and we’ve talked literally every day ever since.
I remember counting down the months, weeks, days, hours until the show premiered and we made it the #1 show opener for the first time in over two years. We proved our fandom still lives, that even some of us have differences on what characters we like and don’t like, what we ship and don’t ship we proved that this fandom is still alive.
And that’s pretty fucking magical.
So here’s to season 2, to more friendships, gifsets, edits, headcanons, fanart, graphics, icons, etc.
