"In addition to having graceful and refined movements, Hisuian Typhlosion has a very relaxed disposition and can often be seen staring into space." "Hisuian Typhlosion is usually gentle and pacifistic. However, once angered, it loses control of its emotions and incinerates opponents until not even ashes remain."
Yuuya is, in all levels except physical, a Hisuian Typhlosion.
Just look at that colour scheme, half-Ghost typing, gentle-but-terrifyingly-angry-when-pushed personality, and that dopey face with natural purple hair and eyeshadow and tell me that isn't Yuuya as a pokemon.
Also P1 Maki would be a Munna, there's no contest about that. Pink/Red theming, childishly cutesy/girly, and eats dreams. You couldn't ask for a more perfect pokemon.
As for P2 Maki, I'm thinking either Butterfree/Vivillion (extending the obvious butterfly theming) or a Swanna (fits her transformation into a self-assured mature adult). Maaaybe a Cincinno because it's grey?
"Why aren't there pelletized meal replacements for humans? I don't want a 'nutritionally complete' protein smoothie made out of oats and soy, I want a bucket of KFC and a burger with fries in cereal form."
( I just watched this 'human kibble' video from NileBlue and yeah, Yuuya would absolutely be into it. )
Writing a scene with Yuuya in the Collective Unconscious right now and ngl I like to portray him as just a little bit off-kilter from reality.
Yuuya isn't a bad person per se, he is patient and kind at heart, but he is also a person who can look at the worst possible version of himself in some fucked up timeline and go 'yeah I can see that'. There's just some part of himself that's resigned towards humanity's darker nature, and he very much recognises what his innate selfishness and cynicism can blossom into (aka becoming another Kandori) if he lets those traits take over.
Footprints in the snow, stopping suddenly. (Drew @ anyone)
Abstract Prompts | Still Accepting!
It began with a few tiny flakes. They wafted down from the overcast sky, their descent to earth halted by the leaves and branches that formed the canopy overhead. They stubbornly refused to melt as the seconds ticked by, and with each passing moment were joined by more and more of their ice-formed brethren. It didn’t take long before the paved trail and the surrounding greenery were blanketed by a thick layer of snow under the overcast sky, steadily and ceaselessly growing layer by layer.
“Some weather this is, huh?” Yuuya pulled his thin jacket around himself as he addressed the dark-haired teenager, the man’s breath visible in the wintry chill. ”We should hurry on back before it gets worse-”
It was very strange weather indeed for the middle of summer, but hopefully this stranger would think this was merely a freak event, rather than the mischief of invisible demons turning reality into their personal playground. Unfortunately, as Yuuya caught a glimpse of movement in the snow, he realised he wouldn’t get a chance to convince him otherwise.
Around them, large, heavy footprints pressed into the snow, accompanied by soft crunches as the icy substance was compacted underfoot, each too large and too far apart to belong to anything resembling a human. It walked perpendicular to them, circling in unmistakably predatory intent, watching and waiting for its prey to turn and run. Yuuya instinctively brought his hand to his face, fingers trailing along his temple — a nervous gesture to most, but for the Persona user, a sign that he was ready to summon at a moment’s notice.
“Leave us alone.”
At the acknowledgement of its presence, the footprints abruptly froze in their place. Everything seemed to stop then, naught except the sound of raspy, guttural breathing breaking the tense silence.
(iirc you wanted an encounter with a cryptid some time ago so here)

A few archived tweets from the demon painter:
https://web.archive.org/web/20260717055017/https://xcancel.com/kazumaKaneko666/status/2077580363178934514 (Pascal the dog was based off Chobi the dog from the manga Dōbutsu no Oisha-san/The Animal Doctor, making her a girl.)
https://web.archive.org/web/20260721215819/https://x.com/kazumaKaneko666/status/2079469277326049394 (Hayagriva is a horse-headed Buddha, but Kaneko decided to change the horse to a zebra for variation's sake. He did not design DDS Harley.)
Also from what I can tell, this is Archive.org's automated capture of his X account. If I'm counting right, the guy made more than 1.5k posts over the months of June and July answering fans' questions. He easily posted 50 times a day during the height of it.
(If anyone wants to help me screenshot/archive everything, that'd be really swell)
Also listen if Tatsuya Sudou and Tatsuya Suou canonically have enough strength to throw and then casually pull out the entire length of a ten-centimeter long knife from a wall respectively, I'm headcanoning all Persona users who can summon in the real world or who received their abilities from Philemon/Nyarlathotep can perform similar feats of strength too.
Kandori also was able to block Tatsuya trying to bisect him by just grabbing the blade of the katana in his bare hand and holding it still. Even Toro knocked a guy out with one punch, and iirc that was explicitly commented on as surprising for such a tubby man.
@lone-prayer // Plotted, for Yuuya
-His penthouse, which was his normal place of exercise, was currently being maintained for a few days, so he'd have to hone his skills elsewhere for today. That meant a public gym, where he stayed working out well until most people had left, only a few stray people left working out... so he felt free to practice more freely with fewer people around.
-Celestial Palm, he internally recited, as he struck the punching bag with just his open palm... and darn near sending the thing flying. He continued: Spinning kicks, flying knees, strikes from several martial arts completely unrelated yet blended together by what seemed like experience.
"...Didn't realize I had an audience," He spoke out, once he finished, upon realizing someone nearby was actually watching. "These moves... I learnt them from many masters I once fought in my travels. Pretty cool, aren't they?"
“Yeah, you made me think I walked into a dojo for a sec,” Yuuya sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck when his awe was acknowledged, but he flashed a thumbs up when he saw the man didn’t seem to mind. “Man, that was sick!”
Yuuya had little experience in martial arts, the man opting for the reach and simple, lethal efficiency of a firearm or a bladed weapon. When he was relieved of his usual weapons, he would then draw upon the supernatural powers of his Persona, or go and find the nearest solid object to bash over his opponent's head.
The Emperor's decisiveness and heavy hand did not lend itself well to grace on the battlefield. Someone who had the composure and discipline to not only hone, but even to his untrained eye blend, different martial arts styles together had Yuuya's immediate attention.
"You sound like you went on a world tour or something," as he spoke, Yuuya made his way to the rack of dumbbells, briefly picking each of them up as he pondered which one to use for bicep curls. 15kg felt about right. "Where did'ya learn them from?"
Not going to be online this weekend, though I've got a queue running with the replies I owe. An artist I like deleted all his Megaten posts and now I'm going to crawl through the Wayback Machine screenshotting what I can before that too goes poof.
There's probably a lesson to be learned here about the ephemerality of online content and not getting overly attached to worldly things, but if I had taken that to heart I wouldn't be rping characters from 1996.
Sharing with you all these album covers from the P25th anniversary vinyl because they’re cool as fuck.
I love Philly’s eyes glowing pink like that, makes the big man seem a little bit more otherworldly. The navy-magenta colour scheme is gorgeous as well.

Finally updated my P1 fansite, so I’ve more time for my brainrot over here. Not mobile accessible yet, it looks much better on desktop (try leaving the window open on the P2 theme!)
It’s still pretty barebones, but I’m looking to get the MC and Maki’s character analysis up by the end of this month. In the meantime, check out the Gallery for a compilation of P1 promotional + anniversary art I scrounged up.
I like to think Flynn keeps a morning star as his offhand weapon. If his sword shatters against, say, an armoured opponent, he’s just going to shrug apologetically while pulling out a spiked medieval mace to cudgel them until they stop moving.
It fits his character as a *generally* nice, merciful young man who would very much like if everyone didn’t have to fight one another and who will spare incapacitated foes, but who will also fight to the death as brutally and efficiently as possible to bring his ideals to fruition.
Vidofnir in P1 vs Vidofnir in modern games.
Apparently it's supposed to be either a rooster or a falcon in mythology (even though its name means 'tree snake') but for Atlus it went from 'fat sun rooster' to 'rooster-crane(?) with a scaly chest if you squint'.
Also I finally got my answer to this. Looks like the sprite artist got to have their own input too.
So Kaneko’s favourite Persona design between Persona 1 and the Persona 2 duology is Vishnu. Apparently many of the Personas had a theme of ballet (or performance/theater), which makes sense since they are personas after all.
Vishnu’s design was also inspired by the black mask and costumes of Baron Von Rothbart from Swan Lake, particularly from the scene where he arrives in human disguise at a ball to deceive the prince. It’s very interesting how the Boy with Earring’s Persona is itself putting on a facade — it’s Vishnu the Preserver in costume as a villain. It’s personas all the way down, isn’t it?

Piggybacking off that last post, I do headcanon there are entire cults/fringe religious sects that grew around a powerful Persona user. It becomes a lot easier to convince people into believing you are the reincarnation of a god (or something of a similar nature) when you can summon your own personal representation of a deity.
In Japan, most of these groups are contained to rural areas where highly-regional animistic folk religion/Shintoism holds strong and have not been subsumed under Buddhism/Christianity, and the Persona users are viewed as the equivalent of shamans or miracle healers.
In such cases, there isn’t much need to actively shut down these groups, and the Shadow Operatives just keep an eye on them + redirect media coverage as necessary. It is when these cults’ influence grow and reality distortion starts to occur that the Shadow Ops step in.
From one of P2's Climax Theatre episodes, for reference.
The Nanjo group definitely contributed the most to the coverup, but I’m also imagining the principal and teachers at Yuuya’s highschool collectively gaslighting convincing the student body that the whole demon invasion event should be kept a secret outside the borders of Mikage-cho. Because another powerful organisation learning about the existence of Personas and demons likely won’t bode well for anyone.
Then you have P5 where the existence of the Metaverse and ‘cognitive pscience’ have become known in albeit fringe scientific circles and I wonder how long is the masquerade going to keep up in the Persona universe?
