I went to the @metmuseum with @bren.stefani a.k.a. @bb.stumes last weekend because her work is on exhibit in the In America: An Anthology of Fashion exhibit. I’m so proud to be friends with someone so talented but also just so happy that I have such a long, meaningful friendship with such a shiny person. It was so exciting to see her see her work in the exhibit as I yelled, “SHE MADE THIS!!” Brenda has artwork in the same museum as Rosa Bonheur and, our fave, Louise Bouegeois. Recovering from Covid and enjoying New Years Day with a Harry Potter marathon with my boys. 👨🏻‍🏫🐈‍⬛ . . . 2021 wasn’t easy. I watched a love one handle chemotherapy and radiation, dealt with a complicated year of teaching, and was in a seemingly never-ending search for a home. But 2021 also brought good things: she’s now cancer-free, my two perfect nieces were born, I’m a stronger teacher, and we finally have a home.
