"Being a man is not being an athelete, or big muscles. It's about being honest, it's about being a man, having true convictions to yourself." - Janice Dickinson I'm sick and tired of the internal homophobia towards 'fem' gays, so I explored and embraced my softer side in this personal photo project and collaboration with Icons of Man. Here's a shout-out to perpetuators of the 'straight-acting', 'no fems', pro-masculine gay culture: I can probably bench more and squat deeper than you; and still manage splits and backbends. I'm probably fitter, faster and more intelligent than you. I'm probably more resilient, disciplined, and can do a better job at your own job because after all, as this post goes up, I'm celebrating my 60th consecutive day of non-stop hustlin' and still counting. I finesse between streetwear, sportswear and the apron daily, but I love bursting out in pastels now and then. I love R&B/hip-hop and my female gay icons in music. I swag it out in the day, but at night I feel vulnerable. I curse and swear when I play Overwatch, but I soften for cats. I walk with my chest up, and I'm not afraid to sass it out with a bit of strut. So really? I'm supposed to be concerned about my mannerism at the level God has taken me to so far? Lol. Don't be trippin' just because you know you can't even juggle what I manage on a daily basis, or handle someone like me. And while you sit behind the screen thinking, "Lokies is whining and ranting again", let's see you come on out and actually do something for once then, boy. This is for my queens, and for those fighting the sense of inadequacy even though they are comfortable with who they are. BE WHOEVER AND WHATEVER YOU FEEL LIKE. π³οΈβπ I can't wait to show y'all the rest of the photos from this project. x

Yet another year, another 11/11, and another Singles' Day. I believe in and I celebrate singlehood, but I want to keep it real with y'all: it hasn't always been easy. Some nights can get lonely; your bed starts to feel a little too big for one. Or when you start putting yourself out there again, but you just keep getting ghosted on over and over and over again; finding yourself in self-doubt, knocking off the focus of you. Meeting someone you believe could be right for you, but time and place won't allow it. Or a struggle with some sort of instinctive internal defense mechanism that kicks in as soon as you think you are ready to open up again, realizing the trauma from past relationships are still very raw. Feelings are for the weak, and that's why Dua Lipa bestowed upon us "New Rules" to empower us. Yet we still falter, we never learn. But we still get on with our lives. We go to sleep and we wake up the next day, taking on this crazy world on our own. So cheers to that all my single boys and girls. You are not alone, and I send you all my β€οΈ today. Celebrate your strengths found in your vulnerability. Here's to a heart that bends, but never breaks. Happy Singles' Day. xx (at Singapore)
"NERF THIS!" They say get a man who can do both (2/2), and that real men wears pink. π I have over 140 hours as D.VA on Overwatch and you're damn right I'm proud to show it.
2 years ago, this went viral and I got into trouble with the Ministry of Defence. Now that I'm no longer in National Service, it is my duty to reshare this every year until the day I die. π³οΈβππ³οΈβππ³οΈβπ

The Pride flag means a lot to me, and it wasn't until I held onto one three weeks ago, did I understand its power. Growing up as a kid, I was unsure why I was looking at boys, not girls. I was constantly hurled with "ah gua", "sissy", "pondan", "gay", and I believed something wasn't right about me. I felt alone and I contemplated suicide. I struggled to believe I was gonna find a girl one day, fall in love, get married and have kids. At 16, it was clear that this small part of what I am is also who I am, and I came out to myself and friends, two years later β to my family. I never regretted it as I continued to live my life as an openly gay man. Yet with the continuous onset of discouraging news regarding my nation's progress with gay rights, I began to feel jaded. I was tired of feeling frustrated and I began to feel lukewarm towards the fight for a more inclusive Singapore. But the Pride flag reminded me of something I could never imagine to be as a kid β to be ALIVE, BLESSED AND PROUD. It reminded me of what I've been through, and how much it can empower someone. I realized it's more than just a piece of fabric. It's a SYMBOL of hope, freedom, acceptance and love. A symbol that was birthed by gay people a generation before me who have FOUGHT for MY FREEDOM AND RIGHT to come out. I took for granted the Pride flag. I took for granted that I'm openly gay and safe. I feel like a lot of people do, and I wanna change that. I'm determined that this flag will be visible wherever I go, for as long as I'm alive. Because the Pride flag represents OUR IDENTITY AND FEARLESSNESS. And it is the responsibility of everyone privileged enough to be out and open to carry this symbol forward, to remind the next generation of queer kids β struggling with suicide because they feel like a mistake β that IT IS OKAY TO BE GAY. It's also our responsibility to take this flag and inspire acceptance to those who feel the need to keep their sexual orientation a shameful secret. Because this is EVERYONE'S PRIDE flag. It's proud, it's powerful, and it's fucking beautiful. So let us be brave for those who needs courage! My name is Lokies Khan, and I'm a proud gay man. π³οΈβπ (at Hong Lim Park)
Blessed. ππ»
