The infusion bags stand for progress in medicine and the prolonging of human life. They have a mixed meaning as they refer to both life and death at the same time. Both states are immanent. To preserve the beauty of the flowers artificially with the help of the infusion bags points out man’s tendency to repress the inevitable fact that we all have to die, and trying to postpone death.
